However I think BA did those things because he did not completely trust giving KC a long-term contract after the RG3 situation. Which completely hurt the organization for many years. Again, it explains why BA did not want to replicate that mistake and has been gun shy offering KC a longer contract early on when he should have.

How exactly is giving Kirk a long term deal, replicating the RG3 disaster?? The two are totally opposite situations. At WORST, if they gave Kirk a long term deal and it failed, we are out another $24M in cap space, which they could likely spread over two years assuming Kirk totally shit the bed.

The RG3 failure cost us three first rounders and a 2nd rounder, and because of it, we wasted four years trying to justify the trade.

Bruce didnt want to give Kirk that kind of deal because it would be openly admitting that the Rg3 trade was a mistake, which he has yet to even hint at. Political, plain and simple.

I know that everyone WANTS a winner, a SB would be even nicer, however, because there's some confusion about what one wants and what one has....an annual NFL league wide malady, we get the defcon 1 types.
