Film Room - Cooley Breaks Down Kelley's 21-Yard Gain
cooley break down of kelley run . nice job by the o/line

The entire team has looked sloppy and ill-prepared this preseason. Not just the QB. GO back and look at the games. The O-line has looked soft. The big WR acquisition has been playing Marvels Stone fist dropping balls. The Defense has been slow to gel. Add in that Reed has been hurt (again) and Doctson is doing his best impression of Malcolm Kelly ( A kid who wants to get paid for four years and retire with as little playing time as possible).
there is no doom or gloom here. I an just pointing out rookie mistakes and decision making that should be corrected by now.
You mean like the pick 6 that Brady made in the SB? If he were yanked in the 3rd QTR (like is the case for most of these QBs in preseason) he would have looked like one of the worst QBs ever. You need to stop already by making so many damn conclusions based on these games. Cousins could still have his fair share of issues but now is not the time to get so bent out of shape over this & yes his O line didn't help him yesterday. In the case of Trent Williams I have no doubt that these will be corrected in the regular season.
Yep & that is why you just have to be happy that this is preseason. Let's just wait a few weeks before coming to any conclusions. BTW - the defense will take a while to gel - why in the world would you think anything else? Tons of changes to the lineup & being manned primarily by younger guys with new coaches. Like it or not - this is how it works. I am at least excited by Brown - he looks like he is going to be a force vs. the run & looks like someone in the LFB mold.
NO doubt you are correct here. But then again there is a portion of our fan base watching the preseason with only one thing in mind. Cementing the notion that we were smart not to sign Cousins long term, and we should prepare ourselves for the drafting of one of these rookies next year. Should this team struggle for ANY reason, these same folks will be the ones screaming we need to do what ever it takes to trade up for (Darnold/Rosen/ or who ever the next Wonderkind is)
So if Kc regresses this year, are you still going to bash the front office?
Im not bent at all. His decision making all pre season has been bad. Not just yesterday. I know its pre season. I just hope it doenst carry into the regular season.
Yep.. because much like you the front office is short sighted and more concerned with what looks sexy over whats best for the team. Because if Cousins regresses he simply becomes average. And I would rather we build around an average QB and continue to build the team over the constant chase for an elite QB which has failed miserably for the past 20 years and lead to the rest of the team being horrid in some areas for a very long time.
Agree but let's not portray this like Cousins is the only one having issues on the offense rt now. The line had problems & Pryor botched his only other potential reception. It is going to take a little time to get things going. The coaching staff is different & you are working in basically two new receivers (hopefully). If there are going to be issues now is the time for them to happen.
Only you would pay the biggest contract in NFL history for an average QB. If KC succeeds the front office looks like asses. IF KC regresses then the front office looks like geniuses. So according to you it doesn't matter how KC performs he is going to get paid no matter what.
pryor 3 preseason drops in less then 10 targets . dox is also "new " and hasnt been in many game situationsYes, but the offense is the same. The only new player is Pryor. I don't see why this should be new to KC.
It almost sounds like you are expecting KC to revert to his year 1 or 2 form & base this on a handful of plays in preseason. You are not giving the guy much credit. He is pretty smart & has shown the ability to adapt & learn.
I agree that he may have some issues this season (e.g. still not doing well in the clutch). However - in no way do I see him reverting to his early form where he is making disastrous mistakes in almost every game & not being effective. That is quite a stretch based on a few of these games.

as for " paying " for avg your ability to see into the future is either pathetic or clouded by hate . KC's new contract from whatever team is paying him will be avg in less then 3 years max
good and when you bash any other qb for the same short comings i'll be waitingI don't expect him to struggle either. But it sounds like you have built in excuses if he fails. KC should be held to a higher standard right now being paid 24m a year.

i expect KC will have as good a year as he has had in the last 2
