Bengals cut ticket prices, again | ProFootballTalk

I was surprised to read this. I think the Brown family gets it wrong on almost every occasion, but this is a smart move.... Two straight years of price cutting will help fans' perception of the team. I also think it's necessary given how fan friendly the team down the street (the Reds) has become.

Wow. A surprising, fan-friendly move from Mike Brown?

$400 dollars for a season ticket is a decent price-point. Granted, you have to sit in the corner nose-bleeds, but it's at least affordable.

Of course if you do pony up for the season ticket what you are buying is:

-- A potentially crappy seat
-- Horrible stadium music
-- A strange 'Dalton Gang' montage that makes you feel just a bit gay (not that there's anything wrong with it)
-- Cold, bland concrete concourses
-- Marvin Lewis
-- Disappointment

You ever been to a Bengal game? There's a reason why 80% of the crowd is wasted.

I would have to see the seats. PBS has some horrid seats.

I have sat almost everywhere in PBS, endzones, nose bleeds, handicapped seating, 50 yard lines, etc. There are almost NO BAD SEATS in PBS. I sat in the nose bleed at the Giants game this year, and they were awesome.

I guess we could go back to the 90's in Riverfront Stadium, where the team sucked so bad they would be lucky to win 5 games on the season, no stars, no excitement, etc.

At least we are still building a decent team.

If Mike Brown resigns a lot of our stars to long term contracts, keeps our defense mostly in tact, hopefully hangs on to Zimmer, and can get a couple decent free agents to fill holes like safety (laRon Landry), etc, and another really good draft, we should be able to compete in our division this next year. Maybe we can even improve. It isn't like we have no hope like some teams.

Oh, I agree..... The product is much better than it was in the late 90s and PBS is a nice stadium. That being said, for just a small amount of money from the Brown family, PBS could be MUCH better. They could replace the video screens. They could jazz up the concourses. Add a ring of honor around the stadium. Hire someone that has actually listened to music recently. Offer better food.... Etc., etc., etc.

I do applaud them for making the games affordable. I think 40 dollars should get you in the door to an NFL game.

To add a ring of honor, you have to have someone worth honoring!! LOL You can't just have Paul Brown's picture on every wall in the stadium.

The music seemed fine to me during the game I have been to. Shinedown is one of the groups that gets played, the beginnign to Devour, and several other good ones that I can remember. As long as most of the rap is kept off the speakers, I am cool with the music.

They need more rock/metal, high tempo, to be played. That kind of music seems to spike testosterone levels which is a good thing heading into a football game.

The Bengals have plenty of guys that would have been honored by other teams for their contributions:

Munoz
Anderson
Krumrie
Esiason
Curtis
Riley
Montoya
Bacon
Dillon
Parish
W. Anderson
JB

We could even leave Boomer off because he's a dick.

I must be picky about seats.

for example, the seats at the end zone... I don't understand why anyone would want those.

Why not? We can also arrange to have Dalton thrown up there after 7 mediocre seasons and no playoff wins.... Just like his predecessor.

Palmer was 46-52 and went to the playoffs twice in 7 years and he would have been quarterback for life had he not developed an aversion to trash on his front lawn.

LOL. Very true.

Let's just hope Dalton has not peaked and willing to work and adjust to get better. We don't need an Aaron Rodgers if we can surround him with talent and he can avoid the turnover.
