Depends. It's another year of Embiids prime gone. They'd also need to track how the constant questions/speculation effect the team.

Generally speaking, if a player doesn't want to be there, I'm in favor of moving on from him asap.

Having said that, this has gotten to the point that it's making Shaq/Kobe look like a mild difference of opinion. I just don't know what either sides end game is. I'd be surprised if they get anywhere close to what Morey apparently wants and doubt the Sixers have any interest in sending Ben to a "preferred destination" (whatever that might be).

Just don't see either side "winning" in this.

Honestly, if I were a GM of another team, Simmons' behavior since that game would be a huge warning sign. Rather than take any ownership of his actions, he chose to be offended and demand others be reprimanded for saying mean things.

2nd though, they needed to get a deal done predraft when Morey was asking for the moon.

I think he could have had some pretty good deals at that time had he been realistic.

Now, Philly has lost all leverage with other teams.

I said two things. The usefulness of Kevin Love at 30 million dollars on your cap is a debate. I also said that if that value exists it isn’t with the Sixers. In a no salary league where that’s not an impact Love the basketball player gets Niang’s minutes which will be about 7-10 minutes a game. When you assess the salary, it’s just a non-starter. I am pushing back on that guys value in general too. It seems the biggest supporters of Love having value are picturing him after a buy out on the vet minimum.
