No doubt it is continuing to argue with folks who i know can never own up to being wrong. Social skills are fine, though admittedly Covid not a hindrance for me as I'm a home body.

Can be regimented (especially with my diet) so could certainly buy a little OCD.
It doesn't matter what you "buy", your posting style here screams social difficulties.

cool....but not what you said. He chose to leave and, truth be told, the higher ups were not happy he did. Pretty much the opposite of your original claim. But, hey, I'm sure you could fool some with a "not what you meant" rant.

OK...now I'll give you the last word.
I mean exactly what I’ve typed. I’m focused on Kevin Love having no value. I’ve cited a failure in which all the players make the same salary and he couldn’t compete. And now we extrapolate that reality to a league where he is one of the highest paid players at 30 million dollars. It’s further evidence that Kevin Love has no value outside of a bench piece paid at the vet minimum.

Holy carp. The Kevin Love "debate" is still going on?

He's a marginal player getting paid as an All-NBA player. He's a negative asset that hinders trades as teams would need to absorb a ton of money to bring him on. They are only doing that if they are getting assets in return.

The salary cap….exists.

Salary filler occurs in almost every trade with a big star salary and a team(s) over the cap

Yeah. The problem is that Love has another year at 28 million in 22-23. So his buyout is going to be pretty painful.

Osman and Rubio are more desirable in that regard. But they've have to wait till December.

Simmons makes slightly more. A deal that entails Simmons eats a ton of salary which hampers what can come back.

Indeed. But basically quibbling over tax dollars at this point

My original point was simply that Love is a negative asset. Sometimes negative assets can be useful in trades but usually not nearly as much as salary matchers that have actual value.

If the Cavs make a deal and they need to match a big salary, they would need to give up MORE in order to include Love in the trade rather than Rubio/Osman/whatever.

I don’t think Osman adds much to this group Rubio at least can fit a need for a guard. The Sixers could use another offensive wing or 3 and D guy but Osman is underwhelming. Here are my rankings of Cavs pieces in terms of Sixers fits and my opinion of the player.
1. Garland - his ability to get the rim is a piece the Sixers should have had in Simmons but didn’t show up enough
2. Sexton - efficient scorer with upside to be a reliable 3rd option on a contender which would allow you to let Tobias walk when his contract is up
3. Okoro- think he’s got great potential and could be the best two way player of all the Cavs pieces. I really value 2 way players. If he can develop a somewhat reliable jumper he could be great
4. Mobley - Sixers are stacked at 4 and 5 but this kid has tremendous upside. Even though he’s not a fit I have to include him because 3 years from now you might look at these players and he stands a full tier above everybody else. That’s happens and you figure it out with that talent
5. Lauri Markkanen - he can give the Sixers flexibility because he has different game than Drummond and can allow the Sixers to play small with Embiid sub matchups vs certain teams which could be big in a series. But his biggest value is the dual role of having a role while also being salary filler to get something done for Ben. The gap in his salary vs Love allows for the Sixers to take on a whole other player. Taking on more low salary assets with upside ultimately allows them to compete for Dame or Beal should they ask to be traded. The drawback is you have to wait until late October for Markk to be included. The absolute best thing to be said about acquiring this deal from Cavs is that you avoid Love’s inclusion in the deal.

I’m not sure how long you have to wait for another markanen trade.

I believe he’s treated like a signing rather than a trade, but not 100% sure

See my other post. I would rather Markkinen play the role of the filler so they can get three guys instead of 2.

I read late October. I want to say something like October 24th.

Totally understand.

But acting baffled why love would be discussed….I mean, it’s really not hard to understand

You can’t trade the other guys for 2 months.

Love matches now

It’s really that simple

That’s a really fleshed out response by Embiid. Good for him for not just saying “I don’t care” or some other BS.

I don’t place much value on the need to do it now.

Embiid essentially says the Sixers fucked up when they chose Ben over Jimmy Butler. He dragged his nuts on Simmons face and then closed with an assertion that he wants him back so he can publicly continue that charade. Well played big man.

I wasn't suggesting that I wanted Rubio or Osman. I was talking about them simply as salary filler that would be more desirable than Love.

Obviously the Sixers would want some actual positive assets in the deal. Sexton/Markkanen being the most likely, IMO.

Also, I’m not really shocked Cavs would want to include Love as the filler. They shed one of the league top 5 shitty contracts in a deal for a 3 time All Star which automatically reduces the number of assets they give up. Cavs likely hate that deal in hindsight.

So is this the year the Cavs finally turn everything around before the Heat? Dammit, wrong thread.
