The Nets traded 3 unprotected 1st, 4 swaps, Jarrett Allen, Caris Lavert and Victor Oladipo for Harden 16 months ago, but we got raped trading Simmons, Curry, Drummond and 2 1sts?
No. They would have if they included Maxey or Thybulle or both.

Fine... you both got raped.

I just find these claims absurd.

If the Sixers win a title this year, this was a huge win for the Sixers. If they never win one with Embiid it is a huge failure.

Same applies with the Nets.

When it is all said and done the Nets didn't want to make this trade. Harden forced the issue.

The Sixers didn't want to give up Curry but that was the price to get Harden now and have a chance at a title this year. I don't think there is much decision there.

What is absurd is that thinking going scorched earth on Simmons wasn't going to affect his trade value. This trade if done before that playoff game and your city and organization throwing Simmons under the bus would be laughed at.

FFS. The Sixers offered Simmons, Thybulle and multiple 1st round picks for Harden 16 months ago. That was before the playoff game.

I'm not interested in arguing about how much of a victim Simmons was. The most remarkable part of the trade was the fact that James Harden was not the most petulant player involved in the trade.

Simmons kind of threw himself under that bus.
Just watch his LSU documentary.

If they did, and I'm not saying they didn't, it would change my opinion on this. Do you have a link to this trade offer from sixers?

Let’s see how Harden and Embiid fit before we try to call that.

But the way I see it, healthy Brooklyn is now far ahead of the rest of the East.

There is very legitimate reason to be skeptical of them being full strength in the playoffs, but still.
you will never admit to the stupid statements you have made throughout this thread.

Thank you, I withdraw my opinion as it wasn't founded on reality. My new opinion is that it still a below average deal for the sixers but not for the same reasons and for sure isn't a r*pe.

Exactly. Keeping those 2 was the priority.
Curry is replaceable as is Drummond....Simmons was the one you needed to get rid of. The 1sts were not going to be high so expendable to get deal done.

Good for both teams.

You realize Morey tried to trade Simmons for Harden a year earlier right? You don't appear to know what you are talking about.

The big mistake Philly made, other than drafting Ben Simmons in the first place, was not trading him sooner. They knew what he was.

Ultimately, how this turns out will be determined by how each plays. Right now, on paper, I wouldn't say the Sixers were raped, but it looks like a clear win for the Nets.

But, if Harden plays well and Simmons doesn't...then that changes things a bit.

Ultimately it will boil down to how well each player integrates with their team. Harden and Simmons have unique skill sets. Simmons more so than Harden. But it will be a challenge for both teams.

I'll still maintain that the Sixers probably won short term and the Nets won long term.

Brooklyn raped you all in this trade. But you were gonna have to take one for the team to rid yourselves of Simmons.
I wouldn’t go that far. Jimmy Butler for Dario Saric and RoCo is a trade r*pe.
