In case you are wondering how this would work cap-wise, here is what the Inquirer says:

Harris ($35.9 million), Simmons ($33.0M) and Thybulle ($2.8M) make a combined $71.7 million. Meanwhile, Hield ($23.0M), Barnes (20.2M) and Haliburton ($4.0M) combine to make $47.2 million.

The Kings would have to use their $3.6 million trade exception, take Thybulle in and add another piece to make the deal work. One option would be using Tristan Thompson’s expiring $9.7 million contract.

The best deal salary-wise would include Fox ($28.1M), Barnes and Hield for Simmons and Harris. The three Kings make a combined $71.3M. But sources have repeatedly said the Sixers are not interested in a deal involving Fox unless he’s shipped to a third team.

Time will tell if they change their mind.
Those players for Simmons Danny Green and the Kings trade exception work out money wise.

So now Simmons has turned into a way to get rid of Harris I guess. I’m not seeing it. Maybe, just maybe, these guys will get a bit more seiective about giving out max deals. I have my doubts though.

Kyrie is not a bad contract though.
When he does what he did this year he’s the worst kind of contract. He’s eating 35 million of their cap to not play.

Does Philly have same rules as nyc?
I don’t think so. But either way, I don’t want him. Dude is just a flake. Too volatile. I’ve also seen him since he left Cleveland roll out some dookers in the playoffs. Also…I don’t want to fucking root for the guy haha.

I'm with you, he sucks as a person...but I didn't think he would be a part time player anywhere but nyc or la if traded

Where he can only play half of his games he is. On talent he is not.

A bad contract implies a player has negative equity in trade.

Kyrie’s situation in Brooklyn would not apply anywhere else he was traded to, because those cities with similar mandates wouldn’t trade for him.

He most definitely does not have negative trade value because he can play at an elite level when he is on the court.

Ask the Brooklyn Nets if they think Kyrie is a bad contact.

Better yet, bring back the amnesty clause.

Think they use it on Kyrie?

0.0% chance.

Totally agree he sucks as a person and I would not want him on my team because I don’t like him.

But he isn’t a bad contract.

He has already threaten to sit out if traded away from kd per reports preseason here locally....he's a head case

Give them 20/20 vision and allow them to use that cap this past summer and I bet they’d take Harden KD and 35 million to shop over Harden KD and Kyrie.

Except KD and Kyrie are a package.

And KD is worth 2 max contracts.
