That’s a pretty big offer, huge if they were offering this years pick.
Only if there aren't a lot of protections on the pick. If it is lottery protected for 2022 then it probably won't convey for a few years.

Yeah the 1st is huge this year but for Philly doesn't mean a whole lot if they want to contend in the next 2-3 years
They could flip it.
That is a tremendous asset if unprotected or lightly protected.
My guess is that it would be at least top 3 protected.
I'm guessing it would be even more heavily protected for 2022 and then lighten up over the next few years.
Olynick is a more expensive Georges Niang and the Sixers already have a better version of Bey in Maxey.I would guess so too
Hopefully that would be negotiable. Lighten the protections a bit and that is a deal that can really help the 6ers. Grant and Olynck fit pretty well.
And Bey is no slouch.

No obviously it’s already known it’s likely going to be a top 3 pick. Thete couldnt be any protection on it at this point or it’s meaningless.Only if there aren't a lot of protections on the pick. If it is lottery protected for 2022 then it probably won't convey for a few years.

If Philly could get grant, bey, and Hayes that's equivalent.
If Philly fans think it isn't... they are as drunk as Morey.
If Grant is healthy that trade helps Philly right away. He fits right in with what they got, Bey can help too.
I don’t understand where people are coming from with this idea that a guy who needs 17 shots a game to average 20 shooting 34% from 3 makes the Sixers better. The Sixers aren’t the Pistons. They don’t need a high volume shooter who has no role anymore because the Pistons found a better high volume shot guy to lead their team in scoring.I think bringing Grant back might be a bad look especially given that they would be giving up Simmons to get him.. But I do think he would help.

It’s because I know that pick like most every other trade dealing an NBA first round pick is lottery protected. Even something as low as top 3 protected has a strong likelihood of not conveying. You are completely ignoring the most valuable asset in the deal.
Make it a 3 teamer or use a separate trade and you could get a player better than Grant for that pick + salary.
Add in Maxey and Bey and you have a package worth more than Simmons that teams like Portland will actually want to pay for.

You don’t need to watch to know the story because it’s played out dozens of times in the NBAI don't watch the Pistons much so I can't really say much about them.

-journey man adds to his game
-goes to a dog shit franchise with no talent
- someone has to score and someone has to attain stats
- people who don’t know better cream over a journeyman who has been given the opportunity to chuck on a bad team.
