If that happens I go:
PG Maxey
SG Bogdanovic
SF Thybulle
PF Collins
C Embiid
Bench
PG Milton
SG Curry
SF Reddish
PF Niang
PF Gallo
C Drummond

I would deal Niang Gallo or Green to get a veteran PG. The biggest issue with this deal is that the Sixers still don’t have a guy who can get his own shot.

You wouldn’t even need to. There’s gotta be a way to do bassey and filler for Schroeder

Reddish off the table now...I don't see a trade with ATL now. Reddish would be one of the main assets for a deal without him it's just Bog, Gallinari and/or picks...not much there.

I wonder if the Knicks aren’t working for a deal

Or this is a set up for another deal. A protected 1st from the Knicks seems like something a team might want to take on the Harris contract.

Seems really unlikely to me that the the Hawks are done dealing. If anything, they are a worse team now than before the trade.

The worst case here They also are able to reset their cap since they don’t need an extension or reddish and it seems unlikely that they will convey that pick this year

It is interesting to note it would convey today.

But they’re also ahead of a few teams who have good chances to pass them, including Atlanta

I think Charlotte has a pretty good chance of being top 12.

The Hawks are on a firesale, they are definitely not done. I'm just not sure if THEY have enough to get Simmons or any of their assets are enticing to Morey...they could be in the deal but they wouldn't acquire Simmons.

I meant one of the top 12 teams in the league.
Yeah I agree.

Teams they won't finish ahead imo - Bulls, Nets, Heat, Bucks, Suns, W's, Grizz, Jazz.

Right now they are in the 11th spot but I could see 9-12 spots.

Yeah. I have no idea what Morey is thinking. He could..

A) Not be interested in what the Hawks are able to offer and he made it clear a deal isn't likely and the Hawks started making moves on that assumption
B) Told the Hawks that a deal IS possible but there were specific conditions that needs to be met. It's possible that he didn't view Reddish as a desirable asset for the Sixers but DO find the Charlotte 1st round pick as desirable and it is a precursor to a deal.

Being completely speculative there are a couple of reasons to think that Option B is the case. First off, Ben Simmons would be a GREAT fit for the Hawks. He could take a ton of pressure off of Trey Young and dramatically improve their backcourt defense. Additionally, John Collins can't be traded until..... tomorrow. Simmons and Harris for Collins, Bogdonavich plus whatever contracts to make it work plus a few 1st round draft picks that could be used to make other moves seems like a pretty good deal for both teams.

OTOH, Morey could still be star hunting and hoping/praying that the Wizards blink and put Beal on the table. That seems unlikely to me but it's possible that Morey is willing to wait for that deal.

You said CJ and Powell deal would interest you.

This is about the best I could do to make it fit with the cap. Including flipping nurkic. If you wanna argue about the nurkic flip part, I'm not married to it.

the latest rumor is that he wants to at least wait until the Harden situation is resolved.

Honestly I think I would take it as brooklyn considering the age disparity anyway. Especially since you should be able to extra some extra value like Maxey and Bassey.

I would roll with that for both teams but for Charlotte it makes little sense

Charlotte needs a defensive c so badly.

But they have a roster that is tough to match salaries with. And neither team needs plumlee. Maybe the mavs absorb him with their trade exception as they’re looking for a center. But the nurkic flip is the clunkiest part

I doubt they pay both bridges and Washington.

Maybe they get a Portland second to sweeten it.

Didn’t think the Sixers could become a worse rebounding team from what they are now with this current group minus Simmons but you found it. This team would also be a problem defensively. You would have to start Maxey McCollum Powell RoCo Embiid. They can’t defend and they can’t rebound. The bench is Milton Curry Thybulle Green Niang Washington Drummond. I don’t really see any reason to give up on the wait for a disgruntled star to want out option for this deal. I do like in McCollum a guy who can score at 3 levels and get his own shot. But you give up other aspects of the team. RoCo is a net negative. I’d rather see this and keep Tobias Harris. I would add the Sixers 2022 1st and 2-3 2nds coming to Blazers to this.

I think both sides should do that. Imo

But I also get Morey wanting to hold out for harden.

But man, how is that any less risky than getting like 4 first rounders so you can make a huge offer for a guy this summer?

I don’t see the advantage of adding RoCo and Ish and Washington and giving up Harris. My deal is much better suited to an end game that would get Morey off the pot.

Second unit led by Maxey and Curry. Niang and Drummond round out your playoff 9 man rotation. That’s a team that can compete for a championship with a healthy Embiid. I think that’s the type of end situation you make Morey consider.
