The Ben Simmons-Less Sixers Are Still A Work In Progress
The Sixers haven’t quite turned Ben Simmons’s subtraction into addition yet.fivethirtyeight.com
I think if the Sixers keep winning that might actually push Morey to make a deal. This is especially true with Embiid's absolutely dominant play.
The reports are that the Sixers aren't interested in Fox but he could be part of a 3 way deal. They do like Halliburton but they would need more juice to make deal.
IMO, Simmons for Halliburton/Barnes/Harkless sound like a pretty good deal. Especially if they think they could win the title this year with the way Embiid is playing(the Sixers are on a 58 win pace with Embiid on the court) Barnes would immediately become the starting 3 and Harkless would provide much needed depth in the front court.
If I were the Kings I would make that deal and red shirt Simmons to get a lottery pick and plan for 22-23.
MaxeyThe way the wiz are free falling they should give up on the beal era and go younger with Simmons.
I just don’t know what the sweetener Philly adds is tho.
Maxey
Maxey is worth being sweetener in any kind of Dame/Beal level deal. But if what’s coming back isn’t that level of player they need to keep Maxey.Wash should take it and run. Dinwiddie’s knee seems to still be an issue
Philadelphia 76ers three-time All-Star Ben Simmons remains the biggest name on the trade market, with suitors in the Atlanta Hawks, Sacramento Kings, Portland Trail Blazers, Minnesota Timberwolves and Indiana Pacers among others, according to sources.
Simmons has yet to play this season after informing his 76ers organization, coaches and teammates that he is not mentally ready to play and needs time to work on himself. The 76ers have not been fining Simmons, as he fulfills team obligations such as training sessions and team meetings as well as continuing to meet with mental health specialists, sources said. And yet, the 76ers don’t appear any closer to a trade than they were in the offseason and prior to training camp.
The Hawks are an emerging potential landing spot for Simmons, whose Defensive Player of the Year-caliber play would surely elevate one of the league’s bottom five defenses. In scanning the Hawks’ roster, it’s obvious John Collins — who signed a five-year, $125 million deal in restricted free agency last offseason — and Cam Reddish are among the players who could acquiesce a package for Simmons. It’s unclear whether the Hawks are ready to put such a proposal on the table after making a run to the Eastern Conference finals a season ago.
Depends on how much panic is out there for GMs on the hot seat.![]()
Update on Ben Simmons trade talks, frustrated Hawks star John Collins a possible match? NBA news and notes
The latest from NBA Insider Shams Charania as trade season begins to heat up.theathletic.com
Not sure how Collins would fit with Tobias on the roster but I think he would flourish with Embiid.
I'm starting to think that it is more likely than not that Simmons will get dealt by the deadline.
Collins and Reddish for Simmons? Seems like a pretty fair deal.
Collins frustrated again? First it was his contract now it's his role.
They better have a Tobias Harris deal lined up or it’s a dud.Collins and Reddish for Simmons? Seems like a pretty fair deal.

Both guys are 4s. Neither one can really play the three.I disagree to an extent.
But it’s going to be hard to move either way.
That’s a tough contract to move but doableThey better have a Tobias Harris deal lined up or it’s a dud.

I would do that deal yesterday.
