Just read an article suggesting a 4 team trade involving the Sixers, Lakers, Pacers and Pistons...

Sixers get TJ Warren, Caris Levert and Jeremy Lamb
Lakers get Simmons and Jerami Grant
Pacers get Westbrook, Matisse Thybulle, a 2022 first round pick and a 2026 first round pick
Pistons get THT, Malik Monk, a 2024 first round pick and a 2028 first round pick

Good Lord haha. Did the ghost of Jerry Buss write the article? Makes sense that the Lakers would give up a horrid contract and get the two best players back in a 4 team deal.

I’m really excited at the prospect of landing 2 more oft injured guys to pair with Joel Embiid.

Trade deadline about 1 month away and no movement on the Simmons trade front

Winning the most games injured title is just as good as winning the finals, right?

Im not saying that particular trade, or even one that involves the Lakers, but it is starting to look like it might take a trade like that one to get Simmons moved.

Looking more and more like this is going to go into the summer with Morey hoping for his white whale (no not Kyle Korver) to become available.

I think after Jan 15th, everyone that signed deals in the offseason will finally be eligible to be traded. Some already are, I think Bird Rights players are the January group. It's some weird carve out. Once everyone is trade eligible, that's when you'll start seeing more trade talk start.

The Sixers give up Simmons AND Thybulle and get back a guy who has been injured for a year and a half who is on the last year of his contract, a guy who is always injured and a league average player? You think that's fine for the Sixers? LOL

It is pretty bad for Philly too actually.

Giving Simmons and Thybulle for that return is rough.

The problem for the Sixers is that may be the only way to move him and get anything solid in return and its not like Simmons is ever going to play for them again, so they arent really giving up much in that regard.

Morey isn't going to trade Simmons for chump change. There is no incentive for him to do this. He'll hold until the summer for sure.

So in order to trade Simmons for a guy who hasn't played more than 50 games in 6 years, a guy who will be a FA next summer and a career bench player, they need to sweeten the deal and toss in Thybulle as well? Are they throwing in one of the 1st round draft picks as well? Why not Maxey?

There is no way the Lakers are getting the 2 best players in a deal like that though.

No way.

Philly would at least get Grant and probably keep Thybulle.

Despite the drama, Simmons far and away the most valuable asset in that package.
