Yeah that would be too much for the Cavs to give up for a guy that won't shoot. Mark is 24, Sexton is 22 and Okoro is 20 and we have yet to see the best from Okoro and possibly Mark with the Cavs. They lose depth...if Simmons could shoot or even willing to shoot his value would be extremely high. I could also make the case if Okoro for example were to to middle out and be a decent 3 point shooter he is a better fit in CLE than Simmons.

Now, if we are talking about giving a package like that to N.O. for Ingram, absolutely.

Could be a fun 3 team deal that way too.

Id def. do MArkenen, Sexton and picks......

Okoro would be a tough pill to swallow. He is already turning into a nice player and is only 20 years old. Philly would likely insist though

Simmons would be interesting though- esp. because he is signed long term.

does a roster with Mobley, Simmons and Allen make any sense though? That would be a team with shooting issues.

But Okoro wouldn't' fit with Ben and Allen and Mobely anyway.

Maybe they send Joe back.

And you still have your picks and love's expriring contract to make a move this summer.

the Cavs will be in GREAT shape in the summer of 2023 as long as they dont' do anything dumb....or trade for Simmons.

totally

i wouldnt mess with the roster......they grow this year and next....add a piece in 2023 free agency or via trade -if LeBron begs maybe Gilbert considers letting him come back :) -by then he wont be an elite guy- but he will prob. still be solid.

cant be understated that Okoro is 20, Garland is 21, Mobley is 20, Allen is 23, Markkenen is 24. Thats the core- and all of those guys should only improve over the next 2 years.

I think Sexton and Mark are expendable. Okoro would be a bigger loss then people think imo.
Mark can spread the floor but is an average defender at times but if Okoro doesn’t turn into that offensive player we think he could then you have Okoro and Simmons out there…no shooting in this league, you are toast. Now Mobley could blossom into that but you can’t have non-shooters at the 2 & 3.

thats what makes trading Markkenen so difficult- they need his shooting. Him and Love really.

they should stay put if you ask me unless its just a small move for a wing.

Chris Mannix of SI was saying that in the summer they coudl sign and trade Sexton- and add their pick- because do they really need more young talent? and could get something over the summer.

kind of interesting.

Only way I think about that trade for Simmons is if the Cavs also get a shooter at the 2 but even then I really do think Okoro can be a better offensive player. The kid is 20 and is a mini-Lebron, he can finish with both hands and he is liking that corner 3 right now. Dangerous weapon if he improves.

You would think Mark, Sexton and picks could get a wing…that would be interesting and the only thing I would even play around with at this point. I’m not sure Sexton fits and he still will want to get paid soon

Seems like the most logical thing. Match salaries and throw a couple picks in there. He will be fine, not a major injury.

yah. I like Sexton- and he could help---- but at this point do we commit like 18-22 million a year for him? I dont think so.

The Cavs did what they should do- acquire a bunch of talent. Now that they have their core- they need to form the team that they will have going forward.

before Garland gets his extension they need to add one more veteran piece- and thats probably right before he signs the offseason AFTER this one.

the best thing is that the core of Garland, Mobley, Allen, Markkenen is tied up long term- beside Garland- who you know they will resign. Mobley will be cheap for a while. Less than 40M a year for Allen and Markkenen is very reasonable.

Yep the mid market teams have to play ball this way. Flip assets, draft well, flip more assets. I mean look at all the minor trades that turned into pieces.
They got the 2nd best big man in the East bc the Nets were recruiting Kyrie and he was friends with DJ…and now Kyrie is sitting at home. Crazy.
They flip Nance and 2nd for Mark.
They got the Sexton pick from the Kyrie trade to Boston.
They acquired Rubio in the Prince trade, who they originally acquired in the JA deal.
Move after move.

If they could flip Sexton, Mark and picks for a scoring two-way wing…they would be set. That being said, I like this team as is. Maybe they can get another veteran wing in the buyout market

Yeah, I personally wouldn’t be looking to move anything right now if I’m the Cavs except for maybe Rubio at the deadline if someone is willing to give up some talented prospect type to enhance their roster for a championship run. Cavs are set. They aren’t winning a championship this year because the pieces are so young. So why not play the year seeing what this group can do. You get 82 games to assess what fits and what they still need. Cavs are the surprise of the year so far. They’re in a great spot. I would gladly swap situations with the Cavs right now as a Sixers fan. Unless you’re a fan of maybe 3-4 other clubs I would think most franchises would swap situations. No reason for Cavs to be making moves right now.

If the Cavs trade for Simmons it would be the most Cavs thing they've done in along time.

A lot of sports talk heads and Philly fans would take RW. Not sure about the locker room though. I think they just want him gone asap

Fox for Simmons

Kings still have Haliburton, Hield and Mitchell in the back court.

this trade makes a lot of sense

I am sure they would rather trade Barnes and Hield- but i dont think the Sixers would take that in a million years.

Kings should hold out for bassey and/or Reed

I don't think Fox makes all that much sense for the Sixers as he is redundant to Maxey. Better defender but worse shooter. However I could see a 3 team trade involved Simmons and Fox.
