You think defense is a big problem for the Sixers? How would Cov even fit on the team? Starter or as a backup with Thybulle on the floor with him?

It's all moot anyway. They aren't trading for McCollum. Not with him being busted.
Guys that don’t actually watch Cov think he’s an elite 3 and D guy. He gets stats as an off the ball defender but when you need him to lock down the team’s best scorer he gets exposed and cooked. The Sixers have been there and done that. They already maximized that asset. Time to move on.

Yeah I didn't want to slag on RoCo but he's a bit of a luxury piece that you try to get off the buyout market than someone you trade for at this point in his career.

Well,

The Lakers don’t have the assets to get Simmons, so it ain’t happening.

But he would be a massive upgrade and would help the team.

Also, keep in mind he is a Klutch client, so he probably has a good relationship with Bron.

He also hasn't played in almost a year, is a nutcase, and would probably take at least 2 to 3 months to fit in the rotation.

why don't the Celtics trade Jaylen Brown for Simmons?

to me- that is a deal that makes a lot of sense for both teams.

It doesn’t.

They need a playmaker like Simmons next to the jays

And that would still be better for the Lakers than Russ.

i dunno. I mean- I do agree- right now Brown has more value. I think you could squeeze extra out of the Sixers

but seems that Tatum and Brown are both pure wings. HAving a guy like Simmons next to Tatum makes more sense to me than Brown.

And it sure doesnt look like the Brown/TAtum pairing is so successful that it cant be broken up.

Russ is actually having his best shooting year in quite a while.

Yeah, he got off to a slow start, but had gradually been playing better and some of his shooting percentages are up. It's still a long way from working and I still have doubts...but there are signs that it may be able to work after all.

Even if it ends up working in the regular season, there's still no guarantee that it will continue through the playoffs.

Yeah, I guess what I’m saying is that he really seems to be giving what could of been expected of him. Doesn’t mean it was a great idea.

No doubt. From what I've observed, he's making a real effort to do what is being asked of him. He still has 2 or 3 wtf? plays each game because he gets going too fast and trying too hard to make a play. But he's definitely making a real effort.

At this point it wouldn't surprise me if Ben gets traded for a couple of picks and role players.

And probably not to the East either. If I were to predict a random team, I would go with Minnesota.

Morey doesn’t make a deal like that. He would just as soon let Ben rot for a year before trading him for spare parts and role players. If he makes that deal he’s essentially shut the door on Joel Embiid’s prime.

I disagree. He’s still have a bevy of picks with some salary to make another move.

Idk who that is, but it’s an option

Who do the picks come from? Are there lottery protections on them? Picks outside of the lottery don’t have that much value. It’s not the NFL. In the NFL you can package this year’s 15th pick and next years 1 and get up to 7 or 8. In the NBA you can’t do that stuff. Nobody values 1st rounders outside of the lottery.

He's also petty enough to realize Minnesota isn't exactly the most desired destination in the NBA amongst players. And also knows a couple of first round picks from them could be worth something in the future.

Not saying it happens, just saying it could. Right now I doubt anyone is going to trade an all-star for him

I think the point is that you would use those picks as part of the package for another move that actually would help.

Yeah. They’re being flipped

What do you think the picks in the harden and holiday deals are??

Getting 4 firsts is a better deal than what holiday went for but less than harden.

It gives you the ammo if a beal or dame want out at the TD or this summer.
