I guess Sixers fans and Lakers fans share this in common with the disappointment this season.

That is a fact. Hopefully the Lakers can get healthy and the Sixers can resolve the Simmons issue. There is still plenty of time for both teams to get things fixed for the playoffs...but if it continues like this for too much longer...they're going to reach a point where it'll be too late.

Unless and until we see this team with its full roster...it is absolutely an overreaction. It is silly to say otherwise. As I pointed out earlier, this team has had the more different lineups and rotations than any other team in the league. I seriously doubt that was by design.

Maybe they can't make it work, maybe they can. We don't know yet. During the stretch where they were starting to at least have a little more of the roster available, they moved from the bottom of the league to the top 10 in defense. Then they lost AD and some guys to Covid and the defense started falling again.

I don't know if a top 10 is sustainable once they are fully healthy and neither does anyone else because we haven't seen it. Most of these players are playing roles and minutes that weren't expecting when the roster was put together.

We have seen all the main pieces.

This isn’t vintage LeBron anymore. And the role players do not have skill sets that fit.

I understand that you want to be optimistic, but the problems the Lakers have are not fixed without a major shake up.

Pelinka screwed this up about as bad as a GM can trying to get cute when they already had a championship roster in 2020.

Now they have pieces that don’t fit and a horrible contract that they probably won’t be able to shed.

Really? When was that? Because I've watched every Lakers game and haven't seen it.

We have seen LeBron, AD and Russ.

Who do you think realistically is going to save the day here?

Russ isn’t easy to play with. His skill set does not fit LeBron’s. Time together can help the Lakers make the best of a bad situation.

But do you honestly believe this team can run the table in the playoffs as constructed?

lol

No we haven't. Not with any real time on the flor to figure things out.

Lebron and AD have missed a combined 19 games and AD will be out for several more. Every time they have started to look like they might be figuring things out...someone gets hurt.

That's not even counting all of the games that other rotation players have missed which also effects the "big 3".

Good luck man.

But I think you know deep down it isn’t happening this year.

just being delusional at this point. They need to make a trade. They are 16-18 with the hardest remaning schedule in the league with a poorly constructed roster. This isn't going to end well assuming they keep most of these guys

I didn't think it was happening before the season started. I think that if Lebron and AD are playing at a high level, they can win it. I think the Lakers figured that they would have to make some changes to the roster and planned to have an idea of what changes they would be looking to make by now. Unfortunately, instead of that, they're signing guys to 10 day contracts because nobody except Westbrook can stay healthy.

No one has said they don't need to make a trade. So maybe you can stop what you are always claiming others do and making shit up.

I dont even see what their move is on the trade market. They have no draft capital of value. Their only player of any value that they can deal is THT and he certainly is not bringing any kind of difference maker back.

And that's the problem. There really isn't a trade out there. The only possibilities I can think of would be the Simmons market drying up to the point that the Sixers trade him for Westbrook...or someone deciding to tank and trading a good package for Westbrook to sell tickets.

I'm not holding my breath waiting on either of those things happening. lol

Unless there is something out there that everyone is missing, any help they get outside of getting healthy will likely have to be done in the buyout market.

They have to make a trade and their only realistic trade with an actual asset involves AD.

Tht is an asset. I’m just not sure who or what you want/get for him.

Caruso?

Just kidding. Of course the Bulls wouldn’t do that.

Seriously though, I don’t think he can return a whole lot. His upside really isn’t as high as a couple of the Laker fans on here make it seem.

Like you said, he has some positive trade value, but not enough to return the type of player the Lakers need.

Kevin Love:

20 minutes a game. 12.8 points, 7.4 rebounds, 2.0 assists, 41.2% from 3, 94.3% from the FT line.

Those per minute stats are extremely efficient. As I said in June- if he is healthy- the guy can still; (i) shoot, (ii) rebound, (iii) pass.

buy him out!

what is up with Hachimura? It says he has been out all season with "personal reasons". I cannot find anything on it.
