So many years wasted, just spinning the mediocre wheels under Tomlin. And now he's done. What a tragedy full of missed opportunities.
You know somehow, someway, there will be thousands still glorifying Tomlin's achievements. I can't wait to see him get axed & picked up elsewhere and absolutely prove us right that he's a damn fraud.

Roethlisberger passed the ball 1,236 times over the last 2 seasons... Tomlin was intent to ride Bell until the wheels fells off, then he held out and he rode Ben's wheels off instead.

Seeing some good news from Gerry Dulac that the team doesn't believe the injury is believed to be career ending.

Legit gonna shed some tears if they report anything about Tommy-John surgery. This isn't the way Ben deserves to end his career.

It was gonna have to happen sooner or later.

Same way TB12 went out, just shut it down this time, and don't let him think he can make a come back.

Hopefully either Mason is the guy, or we suck enough to draft THE GUY.

I can't handle 2 straight decades of shitty QB's again.
Mason will be just good enough that we can't land "the guy".

Just to put this out there... The last QB to undergo Tommy-John surgery was Jake Delhomme back in 2007, age was 32 at that time. He came back the next season and said his arm was "better than ever" 6 months later. The Panthers finished 12-4 that next year after his surgery. Delhomme started all 16 games.

That's good news at least.

I don't want to see Ben's career end like this, and it is good news to hear it might not be career ending, but elbow surgery on a 38 y/o QB...I'm not counting on a major comeback. We shall see.

Tough luck for Ben.... As much as I hate having to watch him beat us all the time, I respect how unique his game has always been. I know Ben has battled through hundreds of injuries, but has he ever been faced with a significant rehab? I mean, aside from the motorcycle thing? That's a tough thing to do at his age.

They'll have a decision to make if Rudolph does play well but Ben wants to keep playing. At that point you can't go with the 38-year-old who just had major arm surgery, can you?

I think the most significant injury he ever had was the one that started this thread back in 2015 against the Rams. Was only a MCL sprain, but it held him out 4 games. During which the Steelers had to deploy the likes of Landry Jones & Mike Vick.

Hard to say. Depends on a number of factors. First and foremost, how well Mason does this year. Also how well the team fairs. If Mason puts the team in WC contention then I don't see how they could turn back to Ben. Sad to say they would likely handicap the team turning back to Ben. I really don't want it to ever come to that. Feels like the Manning/Luck Favre/Rodgers situations... In a perfect world Ben rides off into the sunset and doesn't make this an issue.

Statement from Ben Roethlisberger:
I’ve been informed that I need season ending surgery on my elbow to continue playing football at the level I expect. This is shocking and heartbreaking for me, to miss this much of a season and feel like I am letting down so many people. I can only trust God’s plan, but I am completely determined to battle through this challenge and come back stronger than ever next season. The Steelers committed three years to me this offseason and I fully intend to honor my contract and reward them with championship level play. I will do all I can to support Mason and the team this season to help win games. I love this game, my teammates, the Steelers organization and fans, and I feel in my heart I have a lot left to give.

At least Ben went out on his feet (so far) and not riding the bench.

Daniel Jones - New York Giants - NFL

And the crowd roars. It was an obvious transition once coach Pat Shurmur left the door open for a potential change on Monday, but the good news is the organization didn't hold back any longer despite being on the books for Eli Manning's $23.5 million in 2019. Danny Dimes most recently went 29-of-34 (85.3%) for 416 yards and two scores on just 60 snaps during the preseason. He'll likely battle uphill in his first start without Sterling Shepard (concussion) and Golden Tate (suspension), but it's the correct call to insert the No. 6 overall pick immediately. It's not farfetched to think Week 2 was the last start of Eli's career, finishing with a 116-116 regular season record over 16 seasons.

Yesterday was bitter, but being a NFC game they can still recover. The problem is how.
Your avatar is amazing.

I haven't read all the posts, forgive me, but is he going to have to have TJ surgery?

They haven't specifically stated what the injury is yet. Tommy-john is a UCL repair surgery. They did say he will undergo surgery but didn't say what other than it being classified as "season ending". Which typically indicates that its most likely a UCL injury, but its mainly speculation right now.

BTW... Your avatar is better
