its reality man. Why does the NFL whine there are not enough black coaches, but push the fact that this year 17 of the starting quarterbacks were black (giving no credit to any of their white halfs)? Our society riots for convicted felons gopped up on goop. My fault for typing what people show by their actions. Fields is the losingest quarterback over the past three seasons, proves over and over he cannot read a defense, but is defended constantly. He has no receivers, the coaches, the offense, all blaming other reasons other than the fact he still does not understand NFL open.

I guess I was expecting the response, just figured it would have come much sooner, and pretty sure Poles is realizing he may be cancelled if he replaces Fields.

there's 17 qbs that are at least part black and you think Poles would make a career decision based on the race of the qb?

That would be awesome, gives a better chance on getting a high draft pick for him....and then he shits the bed following week.
Done with him and the Bears for rest of the season myself......

Let the chips fall where they may.

That dude has said some of the most utterly absurd shit I've ever seen. For years and years now. There's been times where he just makes things up from past seasons that didn't happen while trying to create a coherent argument. It's honestly wild to read.

I was going to point out the obvious that Caleb is also black...Jayden Daniels black.

Maye is white as shit I guess.

It was just asked again if the Bears should keep Justin Fields.....

Answer was Bears should draft Williams, reset the rookie contract cause this kid is gonna be special....you draft a qb like that when you get the chance....

This by an ex-nfl player......

Seems like all nfl pundits keep saying the samething.....

Id be shocked if we didnt draft him.......

I wouldn't be shocked at all if the Bears don't take Williams with their 1st pick, and that's regardless of whether or not Poles trades Fields. Of course if they dont trade him, then I see no reason at all for using either of their two #1s on a QB. With each passing week, I've become more convinced that Fields is not our long term answer. But I also can't help but wonder if Poles nonetheless hangs onto him for another year, if only because he's has that 5th year option card to play.

Not too long ago I believed that if Poles intends to trade Fields, then he should do so this offseason, as he'll be able to max out his value. But the more I toss this around in my empty brain, I'm wondering just how much draft capital would be lost if he decided to wait one more year to see how things turn out. I think at most he could get for Fields is a 2nd in '24 and perhaps a conditional 4th in '25, something along those lines. Not sure he would do much worse if he waits an extra next year. In the meantime he could use that 1st pick either on someone like MHJ or dangle it as trade bait.

The thing I dread most is that they keep Eberflus and Getsy.
I can live with Fields so long as Eberflus and Getsy are gone.
Coaching staff is gone then Fields is gone. New guy will want his choice of qb, given the Bears apparent #1 pick.

Fields can't throw. Athletic rusher though.
It really isn't his "throw" ability that is in question. It is his in ability, at times, to throw to wide open wide receivers, it is his slow drop back style, his reading of defenses at times that is the issue (though since his return from injury he has been better at it).

I think we all would be shocked if CW is not a Bear nect season........

I said this in a post last offseason,Bears could trade down from no.1 cause we very well could have our qb in Justin Fields and if JF doesnt work out,we could package our top two picks to trade up to get CW..........well here we are and we dont have to trade up to get him.
(And I actually seen that trade idea on The Herd)

if Poles does not draft Williams and JF falters,Poles is finished as a Bear and possibly a gm by making that mistake.......

if he does take Williams, and he balls out,Poles will be given keys to the city.......and we will all forget JF.

Now Im not sure about Calebs mental state of being in Chicago, that could be another story.........

Honestly, I think Carolina is going to win out and we're going to be screwed. lol

Solid chance they see a Jags team without Lawrence this week.

Solid chance they see a Bucs team final week that's clinched and has nothing to play for.

Panthers haven't looked terrible lately either.

Carolina is not winning both games vs two teams vying for playoff spots. They’re terrible.

Lawrence did practice, but that still may not be enough. The Jags have been in a nosedive this past month, while the Panthers are beginning to show their stuff. I think this is the Panthers best shot. Thought I read something somewhere, maybe by one of our own in here, that if he Panthers end up tied with the Cardinals, the 1st pick would still belong to us due to the tiebreaker advantage for the Panthers.

Tampa Bay will be playing their backups, brotha. They're going to beat the Saints at home this week and clinch. Become locked into the #4 seed.

I'll bet most anything they would win that game.

Yes, they would have to win out. Keep in mind, Bucs likely playing backups in Week 18.

I mean I guess it could happen. If you told me a month and a half ago the giants would win 3 in a row I wouldn’t have believed that either. lol. It is what it is. Go Jags.

Doubt Arizona is gonna do us any favors either. They play the Eagles and the Seahawks in their final two games. Both of those clubs are in the thick of the playoff race.

And let's remember that even if the Bears end up with the #2 pick, that's still a helluva slot for Poles. Obviously not as strong as having the #1 pick, but sure is a damn good consolation prize. He'll still have a number of options with it.
