Except nobody, ever, has ever said, ever... that only throwing one pitch means you have no talent.

What I did say...

Was that if you want to be in the conversation for "most talented" you should have 3 or 4 or 5 plus pitches that you can throw for strikes any time.

To which... Idiot face and fuck machine said "Mariano Rivera had no talent"

I said..

"Great, so you find the one all time great who threw only one pitch"

And now people are saying things like Charlie Hough and Tim Wakefield.

So, Ox, unless you think that Tim Wakefield is an all time great, why..... in the fuck...

did you bring him up?

So you're saying Tim Wakefield isnt an all time great. I agree.

I don't think throwing hard is the end all be all to "talent"

Give me a pitcher like Buchholz or Darvish who have 4 or 5 "plus" pitches that he can throw for strikes any time over a guy who throws hard..

That's "talent"...

pretty lights out that first year with the Pirates..

He was awesome in the postseason for them..throwing 2 complete games vs your braves..

He should have stopped right there..

Nyet - check out his first season with the Sox (1995?). He was great. Then it kinda went downhill.

Yeah it was 2 different convos now being blended into 1 so people can mock others

OK, back on ignore with you. Have a good one!

a lot of that going on today...I'm thinking of just taking it to the next level, and start arguing JD's position that Homer Bailey is the most talented pitcher in MLB history...just...cuz....

Yeah. You're lying.

When the comparison was made, it was strictly based on the fact that Randy Johnson, another big LHP who threw 100 and a wicked slider, was effective as a 2 pitch pitcher...And based on that, if Chapman could learn to throw his slider over the plate consistently, that he could indeed become a dominant starter despite only having 2 pitches.

"Crazy comparison"

Great... And if I said

"Clay Buchholz is like a young Pedro Martinez...

Both throw four pitches for strikes with command."

I would be mocked with "Snuggles thinks Buchholz is Pedro Martinez" posts every day for a decade.

Don't play dumb with me. You know what I'm saying..

If you wanna be a Chapman honk, be a Chapman honk...

But don't get all bent out of shape when other posters aren't ready to send Middlebrooks to the Independent Leagues because he's hitting .200 over 40 games..

Oh you'd never hear me say Wakefield is an all time great, he just fits the no talent criteria of pitching.

But Rock said numerous times, he's a "compelling" case for Cooperstown. So you have the wrong guy.

So, are you admitting that using him as a comparison to "the most talented pitcher in MLB" doesn't make a fucking lick of sense?

I told you to try harder with this troll thing you're doing today...you're not listening...
