1. OOC:
TCU: 48-14 Samford, 30-7 Minnesota, 56-0 SMU,
Baylor: 45-0 SMU, 70-6 Northwestern St, 63-21 Buffalo

2. Head to Head:
Baylor beat TCU. TCU was up by 21 in the 4th. Baylor benefited from a PI non-call that should have extended a TCU drive to put the game away. Baylor benefited from a phantom PI call after that that helped extend their drive to eventually win the game. Game was in Waco.

3. Loss:
TCU: 3 point loss at very end of game @Baylor
Baylor: 27-41 loss @WVU

TCU beat KSU handily. If Baylor handles KSU, which team should go to the Playoff?

Apparently TCU judging by the massive disparity in the current CFP rankings.

I think a decisive victory over KSU in the last week of the season will be all the excuse the Committee needs to jump Baylor over TCU... the two teams, if both winning out, should be right next to each other in the rankings after Bama plays Miss St and Oregon plays ASU.

No way they put TCU 4 and Baylor 5* when Baylor won head to head. Just impossible.

*yes, there is the slightly plausible ranking of 4 TCU, 5. Miss St, 6. Baylor

TCU outplayed Baylor in Baylor. Baylor won but they have a lesser SOS than TCU. Some might say it isn't fair that TCU will get in over Baylor if they both finish 11-1 but life isn't fair. TCU looks like the better team based on the eye test.

Having seen my team play both, I think Baylor is better.

TCU is the better team, but Baylor gets the playoff spot

This is pretty much it. I think the teams that get in the playoffs should get there because they EARNED it. Not because of an eye test. Now, if all other things are considered equal - eye test is fine. But all things are not equal. If both teams win out Baylor will be conference champs; and Baylor will have the straight up head to head win over TCU.

How can you put a team with the same record, from the same conference, in over a team who is the conference champs and who beat the other team?

What would West Virginia fans say?

To be fair we controlled both games from start to finish. The only reason TCU won is our idiot HC went ultra conservative and we had one defensive breakdown on a pass play late. Both Boykin and Petty had horrible days in Morgantown. True Story

It will come down to the next 2 games. TCU will probably need to roll teams to hold on to their lead. If Baylor rolls KSU, they are in. Briles will have no problem with that.

Baylor and TCU play 9 of the same teams, then play each other. Same record, and Baylor won head to head. I can't think of any way someone can argue TCU should get in over Baylor. Baylor is being punished for not having enough quality wins, yet they beat the #4 team in the nation. WTF is wrong with this committee

Ultra conservative is being kind. I thought I was watching a Gene Stallings team.

thought the switch to zone was a bigger issue. Changed defenses late and you get a huge breakdown in coverage for a 40 yard gain.

Both BIG12! BIG12! BIG12!

See, the SEC fugged up sooo very bad by not taking us....

Texas is going to get bowl eligible this week then TCU will beat them, Baylor will win out and all the others have to play each other and tough rivals. It's in the bag boys the BIG12 has taken over CFB.

I'm already on record that i don't have a problem with TCU being ahead of Baylor. I can see how either fan base would be pissed if they're the ones left out of the playoffs - IF both teams win out, which is not a guarantee by a long shot.

Baylor miracled a last-second win at home against the Frogs, then shit the bed in Morgantown. TCU lost that heartbreaker in Waco by going conservative, which is exactly what Holgorsen did that allowed TCU to win in Morgantown.

I'd say they're about equal. Baylor just lost later, and it's almost always preferable to lose earlier than later...if you must lose.

The moral of the story is: don't lose.

Don Nehlen would have been proud of that play calling while Bill Stewart would have congratulated everyone on a hard fought game with a pat on the ass.

Seriously we fucked that up.

Didn't Baylor beat TCU? Why is this even a debate?

Results on the field MUST trump people's stupid eyeball tests.
