They need lots of infrastructure so they can film Huckleberry hunt for the Jersey Devil in the woods of West Virginia for Mountain Monsters.
Don’t disagree, but infrastructure is not only on the production side. HBO has a strong infrastructure for distribution (HBOMax, for example).

I have no idea why they would blow up HBOs content creation model. Traditionally, they have had at least 2 or 3 very profitable shows going at any one time. This is going back 30-40 years ago when they had “Fraggle Rock” and “1st and 10“ and “Dream On” and …

I mean access to that ridiculous HBO vault has value on its own.

They cutting costs moving forward on new material though. I get it. I thought places like Netflix should've just curated content as developing your own stuff is way more expesnive.

But

Shorten that title and it’s sure fire winner….

I didn't make that up. That's a real show, Huckleberry is it's star, and that's what it's about, looking for different mythical Americana monsters in the woods.

Reality TV is a horror show. I'm sure that's not the most embarrassing thing on Discovery.

From the time the TV was invented ...there has never been a time were consumers have been given so much content and paid so little for it.
What HBO max gives you alone for just 15 bucks a month is staggering

Right now is nothing short of content Nirvana ....and with no commercials. And it probably won't last. It's just too good.

So in short, I have no idea what you are talking about.

Let’s say that Batgirl only brought in 50,000 new subscribers who just signed up to watch the film. That’s less than a million dollars in actual revenue. Now imagine if they could write it off and recoup even a third of their $90 million budget, that’s still 30x more money they now have compared to if they wold have released it on HBO Max.

I have idea how they allocate income on a streaming service. If I only watch 1 program in a given month, does that program get my entire subscription fee for that month? But if I watch 5 shows, does that mean those 5 get my fee, split in some way?
