OK - playing devil's advocate here. If the Redskins can make these type of stops/plays at the end of the game then why can't they do similar during the remainder of the game - at least sometimes? This game was a little different since Philly had the edge at times & 7 of the pts had nothing to do with the D.
However - the Vikings & Browns games (mentioned in this article & involving late game D stops) were ones in which the Redskins led comfortably during a lot of the game. There really was no excuse for them to get the other team back in the game (especially against the Vikings where the D basically fell asleep in the 2nd QTR).
OK - time for the team to add some real talent on D, but also time for them to look at overall coaching and strategy (even if they retain the entire staff). I am not really on board with this whole squeak it out at the end & only worry about scoring 1 more pt than the opponent philosophy. That is just going to be burn you at times as it did during several losses this season. Redskins have to try to not make things so tough on themselves all the time. Maybe that won't be the case this season, but that should be a goal for next season.
