Saban must be mellowing. The uptempo is all Kiffin. Sims was more comfortable in a no huddle than he was a huddle. We may be seeing the death of the huddle.I like it based on the fact it gives more touches to playmakers. There's a time for uptempo and a time to run clock. Hopefully they can find that balance.

Let me do some 'contorting'. I agree with the base critique Saban made of the hunh. I don't see how anyone could dispute the core points he was making about the system. It does put defenses at an obvious disadvantage and does lead to players having to play injured without the ability to substitute without using a timeout or a player going to the turf and being helped off. What I didn't like about Saban's comment is that it didn't include a solution to the problem. I'm not sure there is a solution except standing back and letting the game evolve. I think defenses will adapt and at some point offenses will find it more productive to take more time between plays for adjustments than to use the hurry-up.
