Hey tgann, we get it, the Ravens are the greatest team in the history of ever and nothing the Broncos can possibly do will matter because the Ravens are so amazing. In fact, the only way the Broncos even keep the Ravens within 30 is if the great and might Ravens decide to take pity on the meek and pathetic Broncos and go into victory formation every play beginning in the second quarter.

Isn't it amazing that the Broncos are completely screwed because they don't have Von Miller or Elvis Dumervil, but the Ravens will be fantastically amazing without last season's number 1 and number 3 receivers, top 4 tacklers, their number 1 pass rusher, their top 2 players in interceptions, and their emotional leader for over a decade? Honestly, I can't figure out for the life of me why the NFL is even bothering with this game. Easiest money in the world is taking the Ravens plus the points.

Ravens win 50 kabillion to 3. If we're lucky enough to keep it that close, of course.

Looks like Peter King isn't so high on the Ravens doing much this season:

Losing key passing targets Anquan Boldin and Dennis Pitta and overhauling half
the defense (with some good changes but also some bad) will prevent the Ravens
from defending their Lombardi Trophy. 7-9 seems a likely record. The other
Harbaugh-coached team is also poised to take a step back. The losses of Randy
Moss and Delanie Walker—two middle-of-the-road contributors but highly unique
mismatch creators—put more strain on a passing game that’s led by a young star
who, granted is supremely talented, but far less polished than people realize.
10-6 seems likely in San Francisco.

While 7-9 might be a stretch, I do see a big possibility for the Ravens to take a step backwards into 9-7 or 8-8 territory, beginning with an "L" come Thursday night.....

Didn't you hear, Walker? All of those losses the Ravens suffered in personnel actually made them better! They're a shoo-in for 16-0!

How can you say with Miller in u destroy us? He did nothing in either game last year. He was dominated by our Oline....did nothing.

Don't forget Manning was ineffective against our D at mile high and we didn't even have out best CB in lad Webb.

Ravens win this going away...uess I course Holliday runs 2 back again which ain't happening.

Manning was ineffective against the Ravens D at mile high? He had 28 completions for 290 plus yards and 3 TD's. How is that ineffective?

The wonders of selective memory, of course! He's completely forgotton December 16th and the drubbing the Ravens endured in their own house. Just like those 3 TD passes don't exist for him. All he can recall are the two INT's. It just doesn't register how fortunate the Ravens were in winning that game.:noidea:

@Cdumler...

When I said the Ravens win by 20 I think I also said I was being sarcastic later in the thread which I was....I respect Denver..their you have it are you happy? I just don't think they are as good as their record suggested last year or as good as Denver fans think they are this year; we shall see.

So far as last year and the walking wounded are you kidding me? The ravens were wounded all year and at one point were missing 6 starters including ray Lewis Ed Reed Suggs Ngata Webb McClain Jimmy Smith....Thats the only reason our backups in Kruger and Ellerbe even saw the field and why it doesn't matter that they are gone...they were backups...This time you play the starters.

Did you really say you are worried about Bryant McKinnie? He shut you down last year and rarely if ever gets beat.. He will dominate who ever is across from him it doesn't matter who u put in front of him.. Who I really really feel sorry for is your third string CENTER that will be lined up across from the best NT in the NFL Haloti Ngata.. Ngata will dominate and Peyton will be pressured....

I will offer no excuses if we lose my team plays in a division the AFCN that regularly has close games and loses. Its your team that has to worry by playing in the AFCW you rarely have real competition. lol!

Ed Reed - Gone

Paul Kruger - Gone

Danelle Ellerbee - Gone

Bernard Pollack - Gone

Ray Lewis - Gone

Who replaced these guys?

Ed Reed - Gone - Michael Huff

Paul Kruger - Gone - Elvis Dumervil

Danelle Ellerbee - Gone - Jameel McClain

Bernard Pollack - Gone - James Ihedigbo (who filled in nicely in previous year when Reed and Pollard got hurt)

Ray Lewis - Gone - Daryl Smith (all time leading tackler in Jacksonville history, and extremely underrated)

Who replaced these guys?

Any other questions?

Who takes over for Ray Lewis in the incomprehensible motivational speeches?

Do you expect all those replacements to come together in one offseason?

Who takes over for Boldin? Pitta? What are the replacements chemistry with Average Joe?

It was a rhetorical question in the first place.

Now here is an actual quesiton.

Do you actually think you upgraded, down-graded or stayed the same at these positions?

nobody can make speeches like Ray, and i won't be in the locker room to see who make the speech so IDK.

Yes, i think they have come together, but there will always be room for improvement.

one of the WR will take over for Boldin just who that is going to be is TBD, Pitta, is a big lose but i think Dickson is a good TE and will be average. I think Joe and the WR will go through a learning process just like Manning and Denver did last year.

Micro_Rave, The questions was also in response to T-Gann's post, since he was crying about some of those guys being hurt in the regular season meeting.

If you say that there will not be a drop off in production at those positions, you are delusional.

What is really delusional though, is saying the Ravens are going to come in here and beat the Broncos by a large margin, when they got whooped on their home field in 2012, then squeaked by on luck and mistakes in OT in the playoffs.

Vegas has the Broncos favored by 9 at the moment for a reason.

on the field wise i think most stayed about the same. Ray was getting old and Reed was getting caught out of possession a lot. I like Dumervil better than Kruger but i think Pollard was better than Ihedigbo, so that equals a split. I think getting rid of high paid slow Boldin was a good move for the team and allowed us to go out and get player to make us about the same. I think the Ravens have every chance to improve on their schedule from last year and possible repeat, yes i understand the odds of repeating are not good.

Well we did get back our best CB that wast out last year in (Webb), i never said anything about a blowout, i think its going to be a good game. Why do people seem to think all Ravens fans are like t-gann?

The loss of Pitta is going to be HUGE, especially against the Broncos. Good TE's have recently had good success against Denver (hence the Jammer acquisition) and Pitta was probably the guy who hurt Denver the most in their two meetings. Replacing him with an "average" TE does little to occupy the Denver defense. Plus, one of the reasons Baltimore had so much success downfield in the playoff game was because the Ravens played that game much differently from the Dec. 16 meeting. I had my doubts, but Caldwell called a better game than Cameron did. Denver won't be caught by surprise again.

Denver did go through some growing pains, and our record at the beginning took a hit because of it against the better teams. Baltimore may end up with similar issues, which hurts their chances in Denver this Thursday.

Pitta and Dickson were in a TE battle until last year and Pitta won the job, Pitta is good but so is Dickson. I think the reason Pitta won the job was because he has better hands than Dickson and he built a great bond (friendship) with Flacco. But in Dickson's defense he was a much better blocking TE, and still has average hands. In fact i thought Dickson should have won the starting the starting job, and now he has his chance to win it back, so i think you'll see a player looking to break out.

I think this week you'll see the old Ravens where we try to keep Manning off the field with the running game, i don't think we'll see the play calling or the Flacco of last years playoff run because of the lack of chemistry. I understand you thinking your team will win and you have good reason but i still think the Ravens have a good chance to win and i also have good reasons. This is going to be a great game i can't wait.

In sarcasm I said the Ravens win by 20...I have also said I was being sarcastic quit being so butthurt...

I think the game is close but I don't see the Broncos generating a pass rush without Doom and Miller when they couldn't with both of them playing. If Flacco gets time we win. I also don't see any reason I play the run against Moreno and if te Broncos can't run and the Ravens can Ravens win.

FInally is Champ Bailey playing? as much as he got smoked last year he is required for the Denver D.

Wait, so you see the ravens doing what they did when they got beat by the broncos in Baltimore? That is sound logic.

Is this English? Moreno toasted the Ravens in Baltimore and was on his way to doing it in Denver before injury. I would not sleep on the broncos backfield but it is the passing game that will be most troublesome for the ravens defense.

Champ probably will get safety help against Torrey Smith if that is who they pair him up with. There are not enough receiving threats for the ravens to demand too many double teams. Also, we have DRC who is a fast and big DB. He might give Smith some troubles. TGann, you might be more concerned with your defensive backfield than ours. Peyton did go 290 yards and 3 TDs. Add a Welker and a new pass-catching TE with the new RB group and I think the broncos will give the ravens quite a lot of fits.

I am not writing the ravens off for the season or even in this game but they have had a lot of turnover during the offseason and you just don't skip past those growing pains. Plus the broncos are going to have more on the line than the ravens; redemption from the playoffs, taking down SB champs, proving we can compete with the good teams, living up to expectations, etc.
