Purdue ranked third in the country with a 1-2 conference record.
ILL-INI....ILL-INI @ Minnesota.Sure, MSU won a home game, they always win their home games, don't they? Fact we came so close to winning this game gives me hope!!!
Yeah, so? Illinois is a good team. No one, NO ONE claimed UMn to be any better than 14th in the conference, pre-season, so if you are bragging about beating the Gophers, that is a HUGE compliment to the Gophers BrockForBumbfucksapparentlyILL-INI....ILL-INI @ Minnesota.

Our team that was predicted to finish 14th in the conference beat Michigan on the road and came within 3 of beating Top Ten ranked MSU on the road and you talk about me blowing smoke? lolYou have blown so much smoke that it is always nice to see your zero ranked team get beat by anyone.
What sport you talking, CFB? 9 wins, beat several 9 win teams. Cvb? Elite 8, took Natl Champs to 5 games. CC? Finished Top Ten. Hockey? Women's split with #1 ranked team and filled up 1/3rd of the Olympic team, men Ranked Top Ten, filling up a good portion of the olympic team. Men's Gym finished like Top 5 last year, Women's team finished something like 6th. Women's Divers won Natl Titles in Diving, do you really want to go down this route? You have blown so much smoke that it is always nice to see your zero ranked team get beat by anyone.
Never would have predicted today's win. Missing 3 starters, including their high scorer, just the minimum 7 scholarship players, and they pull it off. Not like Rutgers is a pushover, either. Outside of maybe Nebraska, is there any pushovers in the B1G this season? Definitely needed this win to keep their NCAA hopes alive. The B1G has 7 teams ranked Top 25 in the last Sagarin Ratings I looked at, and 6 teams ranked 26-80 and Nebraska. Before today's game, UMn's remaining games were divided up equally 7 more games vs Top 25s and 7 more vs 26 and up teams. Maybe snagging a win like this today can help somehow? Allowed Willis to see what he could do, same with the seldomly used Treyton Thompson. Maybe both will contribute more going forward?
6 of the Gophers last 8 games, 7 of 9 if they reschedule the game @ PSU, will be against the bottom half of the B1G, so that bodes well for a good finish, IF they can survive their next 4 games without getting too down or depressed about their situation. They say winning begets winning, but that's tough when their first 11 games were crammed with 8 games vs Top 25 rated teams and only 3 that were not Top 25 rated in the Sagarin Ratings. They may need to pull off an upset or two in the next 4 games, but that won't be easy, both their rivalry games are road games, but they've played well on the road this season. Purdue has shown themselves to be beatable and that game and their next vs OSU are home games, and that should help.
Sitting at 2-9 could discourage anyone and would go a long way towards making them feel like giving up, whereas sitting at 4-7 could make them feel very hopeful. 3-8? That could go either way?
