Seems like the only interesting thing is the possible OOC matchups. This is aimed at countering the big dog, of course.

No contract signed yet but the OOC opportunities are exciting. It will be interesting to see what teams start doing with their future scheduling. I'd expect this to start around 2024-2025. The Big Ten and PAC 12 will have to go to 8 conference games IMO.

If they don't start making moves, it's probably nothing.

I would say that a Conference vs Conference match up over thursday-saturday with 12 games or something would be out-of-the-box thinking. Like the showdown weekends in BBall. Would probably draw ratings, too.

Hopefully they can find a way to make it work. It could provide a good increase in TV revenue.

I doubt this is about the potential OOC matchups (although those will be promoted as a big reason) a much as it is about controlling the SEC and trying to create more competitive balance.

By forming an alliance, the other 3 conferences would have the ability to "outvote" the SEC on changes to things like playoff size, who qualifies, recruiting rules, etc.

Ideally, you'd like to see all 4 conferences working together on these things. Hopefully, that will be the ultimate outcome.

Yeah, especially if you can get a slate of games involving the top teams in each conference. Games with teams like USC, Oregon, tOSU, Michigan, Washington, Clemson, Wisky, Boston College, FSU, etc. would all be big draws.

The new SEC champion should play the "Alliance" champion for the championship.

So…. Boston College is a big draw out West? ;)

Not really, but they're a fairly well known school.

It's the ACC. :noidea: Slim pickin's for football.
I suppose, but… You couldn’t go with Virginia Tech?, UNC? Miami?
I mean… B.C. is that school that the entire conference STILL doesn’t get why we invited them! :D :D

Hopefully after the PAC tells Wazzu to join the MWC
Oh, good one. A track school that had a donor buy athletic programs is one to talk. Oregon is like North Korea where no matter how much money you spend you will never be at the big boy table.

Washington State is the lowest revenue producing school in all of the P5. If the PAC stopped sending them pity checks, they would be a mid tier MWC school. But at least they make up for it by having an ass clown of a coach that embarrasses himself and the university every time he talks.

Ok - however WAZZU is so far from the table, it’s beyond the kid’s table at Thanksgiving, you are the homeless drunk uncle sitting at a TV tray in the corner.

But they get their disability check every month from the PAC 12
