Maybe you all have talked about this already.
The B1G is forming a football class system. The blue bloods play each other with more frequency. Makes for better TV matchups. Which is good for those in the upper class system.
Nebraska has Ohio State on the schedule for the next four years, There will always be at least one blue blood on the schedule, guaranteed, from the other division.
Blue bloods
Oho State
Michigan
Penn State
Michigan State
Blue bloods
Wisconsin
Iowa
Nebraska
don't think there are others, and it is a stretch to have Iowa on it.
That leaves the other seven teams on the not blue blood list.
Also, maybe, just maybe, the B1G is eyeing a blue blood for the west in expansion, but probably won't get them. I cannot see any blue blood football team coming to the B1G WEST at this time. B1G East, maybe. but not the west.
Some years, Nebraska could play three blue bloods from the east, such as 2018 with Michigan, Ohio State and Michigan State on the schedule.
I am liking this format.
Unlike Iowa's 2015 schedule of with Maryland, Indiana, and Purdue.
