It's really kind of funny how the only arguments against Mahomes now are

"But superbowls"

"But Brady and the Patriots"

He's 24. Brady is in his 40's... it's his 2nd year starting.

and honestly thats not a bad thing. I really think alex smith was never given his credit
Nope- not at all.

I would rather the Bears not pay Trubisky to find out and just find another QB. Trade for Rosen maybe. Dunno. Gotta try something. Bears may still win the NFCN because their D is still OP, but.. the QB play is yikes central.

What's 'the argument?'

Bingo. He’s gonna cost a lot more to re sign........ the luxury of him “learning” disappears soon

Correct. He gets 25M which ain't shit in this QB market, but that's still 25M. Just grab Rosen from the Dolphins. Not like the Bears can mortgage the farm to grab a QB in this next draft anyways. Rosen isn't necessarily in Miami's plans either. Makes perfect sense for the Bears, imo.

The Bears should start Trey Burton at Qb, as he has more Super Bowl rings and TDs than Mitch

In hindsight Mahomes but I wanted Trubisky at draft time just like everyone else. Trubisky is still young and can have a great long career if he puts it together. I still think he will.

Various versions of that. Usually from Patriots fans.

What Patrio'ts fan has brought up SB's to put Mahomes down? Many on here that I read have said that he is the best in the game right now and have no shame with that, Hope your not confusing with a Bear's fan

He's gonna get more than 25M, unless the QB market corrects itself.

He'll get between 12-13% of the cap if he gets starter money. So moreorless in that neighborhood.

In both scenarios, the Bears would be psychotic to give him any money based on what Trubisky has done to this point when they can just run Rosen for a year or two.

Not talking SportsHoopla in this case; pretty true in the cesspool of twitter and youtube. This was actually a Bears fan in this thread.

No doubt about it. The 'Super Bowl rings' argument comes from those who can't make a credible argument in the first place. Ironic that you would call out a certain fanbase, as last years playoffs and SB itself is all the proof you really need.

The Patriots fans here are mostly tame compared to twitter and elsewhere. It's remarkable, really.

Well...given some of the arguments I've seen made by some of them here, I find that hard to believe.

....however, I'll just take your word for it and move on....

I agree it's psychotic, but it's starting QB money. If not the Bears someone will pay over 30M probably closer to 35 even.
Mahomes will rewrite the QB salary check when he signs. Now of course he could, but I doubt it, go team friendly so the team can keep a full roster. If he does that too should bring down all other soon to sign QB contracts.
If Mahomes signs for $1 more than the highest QB it means all others are worth no more than 28 to 31M as Franchise guys.
Off of the last season plus, it's
1.Mahomes

2. Another QB especially with the younger guys.

Still believe by seasons end it will be clear. Even to you. Well maybe not you.

You admit Trubs STILL hasn't figured it out and he's in his third season. Dak figured it out in year 1.

how many seasons does a #2 overall pick need to put it together? historically speaking. How many are well, not good at all for 3 years and take flight year 4?
Well, a 4th rounder put it together in year 3. That same 4th rounder is "way worse" than Trubs "and it's not even close".

Those are the idiotic words of @noonthirtyjoe
