I think you know more about stats in past appearances between the two but you also recognize what is going on currently. As a proponent of the present, this has been really close and I'm waiting to see more.

It's close in terms of both players holding.

But just based on the past, since FED has struggled breaking Nadal, any game that he doesn't break Nadal feels like a replay of all the problems he's had in the past in breaking Nadal.

Since FED and Nadal are both sponsored by Nike, I wonder if they've ever taken the court wearing the same shirt.

LOL.

I didn't mean to offend you whatsoever. I'm sure that one on one past matches are a lot bigger of a deal than other sports which are team based.

I realize my last comment was completely absurd and stupid. That is all.

Sometimes they mean something.

But then the new racquet change, + new coach, could mean that past matchups don't matter as much. Who knows.

Or, like with Stan Wawrinka, he's just playing a lot more solid now, plus more confident too. Throw out some importance of the past, since it's an improved Wawrinka the past 1+ years.

Nadal wins the tiebreak.

Let's see if FED can break Nadal in the 2nd set.

Sounds like the first set was the worst thing possible for Fed: played at Nadal's pace (slow), expended a lot of energy, and wound up losing in a breaker (very common in his GS losses).

FED struggled on his service game, faced break points, but won.

Nadal held.

3-2.

These ATP announcers are POS douchebags. "Now the inevitabe is coming in." "Fed doesn't have a chance." "Nadal's breaks are gonna come in bunches now."

Just shut the fuck up. Fed had more points going into the 1st set breaker and held for 8 straight games to start. He's not guaranteed to get broken left and right.

Nadal takes the set 6-3. Fed had his chance there. Laver Arena was ready to explode if he made that passing shot to finish that incredible point at 0-30.

FED having trouble with his backhand now, Nadal breaks.

Nadal up 2-1 in the 3rd.
