This is shaping up to be one of their greatest battles I am thinking.

Fed is playing out of his mind and Rafa is healthy and just being Rafa.... Minus the blister.

CAN NOT WAIT.

Love them both. Except for when they face each other.

Who ya got? 5 sets?

I am saying Rafa in 4.

Go Rafa!!!!

I guess this is the game thread?

I'll post on the past few days of tennis, probably tomorrow.

I was just about to make a thread about this, even though I'm a noob and don't have a right to do so; this seems like a pretty big deal. Admittedly, I'm not a follower of tennis, but as a consumer of alcohol and the severe lack of 4 AM American programming, I'm hoping to see a good match.

I was ready with alcohol with for their AO SF match 2 years ago.

Not this year though.

Was a 30-all game, but still on serve, 2-1.

Although I don't follow Tennis all that much (as I previously expressed), I respect all sports and their respective fans. I just hope you don't mind if I chime in occasionally. I understand the rules and really enjoy this website.

FED had deuce at 2-1, but that was as close as he got on Nadal's serve.

Both have held, 3-2 now.

I don't always post live for this major, usually end up watching matches on the DVR during the next night.

But I'd paced myself the past few days, so I could stay up for this one and watch and post live.

FED struggled on his next service game, especially during the rallies when Nadal would hit his forehand down the line.

Was 15-40 at one point.

FED dug deep and managed to get the hold.

4-3 on serve.

Well, not to state the obvious...it has been pretty even so far. What do you see from Nadal or Federer that might be a deal-breaker in the end?

FED struggling when he comes to the net, so far. He's gotten passed easily.

Nadal has usually won the medium to long baseline rallies in their past matchups.

FED has to win those, to win the match.

Also, he has to win break points. Usually against Nadal especially, he can force a decent amount of break chances, but goes something like 4/19. Too many chances where he can't convert.

FED struggled on his service game, was down 30-40. Eventually won it.

He keeps getting in danger though.

Pete Sampras is in the audience, he will hand out the Men's trophy.

I think you know more about stats in past appearances between the two but you also recognize what is going on currently. As a proponent of the present, this has been really close and I'm waiting to see more.

More about the alcohol :-)))

This was on a Wednesday night / Thursday morning 2 years ago.

From about 6 PM - 4AM, between the Women's SF on the DVR; a few NBA games, and then the Men's SF, that was about 10 hours of sports. Was ready with beer and wine for all of it.
