The owner wasn’t going to sabotage him in other interviews

I'm not sure we're going to get Kirk.

Raheem is proving to be as effective as he was in his last HCing job. Cousins wanted to move though when he had a good thing going with KOC. They are equally to blame at this point.

Still uncertain of who I'd rather face next week.

Supposedly Raheem has seen too many young QBs ruined from putting them in too early n the Falcons coaching staff has no intention of doing so with Penix.

With their playoffs hopes fading n Kirk having what 8, 9 ints n 1 passing TD in the last 5 weeks who knows. Plus that 180 million dollar contract with 100 million guaranted might be part of the equation as well.

He may never get a SB ring as a player, but when it comes to contracts. Kirk has pimped the shit outta NFL owners. I for one tip my cap to him for that.

Well played, Kirk. Well played indeed.

KC, he is not mobile and is a turnover machine right now.
It would be so Redskins for Kirk to come in and end our season. It would be so Redskins for Penix in his first career start to have a coming out party and end our season. I'm still unsure. Thanks for answering @deanpet21

This works in our favor, getting a little bit of film on him for next week. Playing him blind could've been a repeat of N.O.

End the Skins season doing something like this.

T-5.) 522 yards – Boomer Esiason

Nov. 10, 1996: Arizona Cardinals 37, Washington 34

Another tie but how the pairing of Boomer Esiason and Ben Roethlisberger came to throw for 522 yards each in a game could not be any more different. During his only season with the Arizona Cardinals at the tail end of his playing career, Esiason took to the sky an incredible 59 times but was only able to find his own receivers 35 times while throwing for three touchdowns and four interceptions in the process. It left him with a passing rating of 77.1, which was just enough for the Cardinals to squeak by against Washington 37-34 and surprisingly isn’t the lowest of members in the 500 club.

Meanwhile Penix does his best Dan Marino impersonation

So befuddled was the Redskins' pass defense that free safety Mark Murphy explained Miami's final touchdown pass -- a four-yarder from Marino to wide receiver Jim Jensen that hiked the lead to 35-10 late in the third quarter -- this way: "We had double coverage on the outside receivers on both sides. There was supposed to be somebody outside of me. I looked and no one was there. Everybody was confused."

Jensen spiked the ball with vigor, after this second touchdown reception of his. Soon thereafter, a half-full stadium was full of boos. The 25-point deficit rendered the fourth quarter mostly irrelevant for the Redskins. The same thing happened in that 38-9 loss to the Los Angeles Raiders in Super Bowl XVIII last January. There, the Redskins trailed by 35-9 after three quarters.

Marino finished with 21 completions in 28 passes for 311 yards. He threw three touchdown passes in the third quarter alone. Not even in the Redskins' lowest moment for the pass defense last year -- when Lynn Dickey completed 22 of 30 for 387 yards and three touchdowns in Green Bay's 48-47 victory -- were five touchdown passes thrown.

I really detest thinking like this, but lets face it. The Skins have given us plenty of ammo over the years to daydream these nightmare scenarios. I remember seeing highlights of both these games n Marion's performance put him on the cover of Sports Illustrated.

As someone who has watched every snap i truly believe Kirk just lost all confidence. There were plays all over the field the past 5 weeks that he simply was not making

Holding the ball. Not coming off the top of his drop AT ALL. Awful footwork. Forced passes. Missed easy easy throws.

Its kind of baffling as he was quite good weeks 2 through 9

Ultimately this was the right move at the right time

3 games left. If we win all 3 we have a 75%+ shot to make the playoffs either by winning the division or as a WC

Starting MPJ this week gives him a soft landing at home vs a bad team for his first start. And to be frank there was simply no shot we were beating you guys with Kirk playing how he's been playing. Do i know we can win out with MPJ? No. But i know we COULDN'T with Kirk .

So that's reason enough

And we will likely get that initial bump in excitement teams always get with these kinds of moves
