No, but you have to do what you have to do. Better to lose your 1st 2 draft picks for one year, then to lose 2 first round picks in a row. If you're gonna sign players with draft pick compensation, then its best to sign them in the same offseason. Baltimore is giving us their second round pick for cruz, and i bet they were more than happy to do that, rather than waiting another year and giving up that 1st rounder too. if you're in, you're in.

I'm just not seeing it.

more trustworthy than scheppers, ross, and a random guy who seems to be different every time through the rotation? UHHHH YES

Ross has been pretty good, scheppers was awesome in ST and who knows what it would've taken to get Skaggs. But hey, keep going.

Justin Smoak was a top prospect once too. And if Skaggs big league time has proven anything it's that he's still got plenty of questions.

if youre trying to make the argument that a starter who has pitched in the big leagues, with alright numbers, and is a top prospect (and carved us up last time he faced us but we sucked last year) is less trustworthy than a reliever.......... no

Based on Tanner's spring training it would've been foolish to give up whatever it would've taken to get him. A concept you're still ignoring.

its spring training dude. cmon now haha

You can only go based on the evidence in front of you. And again, what would it have taken to get Skaggs? You're ignoring this entirely.

It's a damn shame Scheppers imploded in this few batters, because otherwise he's had a fine outing...but a 5 run meltdown to these guys is not acceptable...

even though i do want him to get his fair chance. but that doesnt really have anything to do with the argument, or spring training. i didnt even pay attention to spring training i was the one asking you guys questions on how people were looking

i wish i knew... the angels traded trumbo right? but skaggs was an example where i said "i would even have taken someone like tyler skaggs" but i also listed others who undoubtedly are proven

Yes it does. You're playing the hindsight is 20/20 game and you're ignoring evidence right in front of your face.

you talking to me here? haha i havent said shit about choice unless i was being sarcastic

Fair enough.

I'm all for trading prospects, but I just want to set the sights higher than Skaggs. If the idea is to be all in, then lets get veteran TORP.

Again, obviously we weren't offered enough value or we would've made a move.
