On occasion, when things didn't seem to progress, my Dad would say "You can't polish a turd" ..

Perhaps that;s the case with Love

The Mythbusters had an episode wherein they proved you can, in fact, polish a turd. But at the end of the day, it’s still just a turd.

Perhaps that’s what should be considered what happened in 2017 in Jacksonville. Hackett did the best he could to polish Bortles…

We’ll see.

Hands down the most ambiguous turn of phrase this year.

Appears all the Buccaneers assistants are now available according to Arians. Not sure I want any but I just wanted to randomly mention that.

I would really like to see Ejiro get an opportunity here as our D cord.

We’ll see.

Perhaps the biggest endorsement Hackett has had from a player so far is from Blake Bortles. He REALLY REALLY raves about Hackett.

I don’t know anything about the first part.
I can confirm the second part.

Is that vague enough?

Todd Bowles as DC? Could do a lot worse!

Anyone else worried Hackett seems to be going all in on a GB coach for his OC and not really looking anywhere else?
An old saying comes to mind - the devil that you know may be better than the devil you don’t know.

in the case of Jason Vrable, they have coached together at Syracuse, Buffalo and Green Bay - and Hackett tried to get him to go to Jacksonville with him. So working together with someone that long, there is definitely a knowledge that each one knows each other’s strengths, are familiar with concepts he wants to implement, and also hAve each other’s backs.

I am more interested in getting quality coaching staff and a coach with head coaching experience.

Assistant coaches I would not hate to see stay on the new staff:
Zach Azzanni - WR Coach
Mike Munchak - Oline Coach
Chris Kuoer - Assistant Oline Coach
Christian Parker - DBs Coach- potential DC per reports
Renaldo Hill - DBs Coach
Bill Kolar - DLine Coach

I see Hackett wants to bring Outten with him. Not super excited about him (on paper) he hasn't really developed any of the Packers TE's. Tonyan doesn't really count. He has been more of a TD guy. Also not going to cry about it. I know coaches do different in different situations and Hackett knows him better then I do so there is something he likes about him. I don't think he is going to hire a bunch of coaches he doesn't believe in. ;) So I will let it develop and then go from there. Could be different as an OC then a TE developer. I will give it a chance. Hackett is really the guy on offense we need to worry about. It will all run through him. I like his energy and intelligence it will be nice for a change. Fangio was a fuddy duddy energy guy. He tried but it just wasn't him. We will become the Packers of the West but that might be ok.

Brace yourself for the possibility the following could be Broncos this off-season.

Marquez Valdes-Scantling
Lucas Patrick
Tyler Lancaster
Dean Lowrey
Chandn Sullivan

I'm just excited that Hackett was a long snapper in college (as well as LB). That experience should make Hackett understand special teams better than Fangio or McMahon did. I'm looking to see who he brings in there.

The OC could be a sock puppet for all I care.

Everytime I hear the name Nathaniel Hackett I can't help but think about collecting football cards as a kid and the amount of Dino Hackett cards I had.
