wrong because the transition tag can be applied throwing a monkey wrench into thatI didn't read the article but from a financial standpoint, it ACTUALLY makes more sense for him to play this year out on the tag, and go where he wants in 2018. Again, if the skins don't get a LTD done this year, his price is only going to go up.

Agreed.. but short of him winning a Lombardi here, do you really think we are going to match what ever deal he is offered??
it depends , a lot can happen , what if we go to the superbowl ? what if he gets injured ? what if we go 10-6 and win a playoff game ? what if we go 7-9 ?
if he plays well the price will go up if he falls off then it will go down
if he does what i think he will do then cost wont matter
of course not and it shouldnt , the easiest and best thing for us is to pay him and move forwardShort of him tanking I dont see his price coming down. And I get the feeling that if it comes to a third tag, he will simply want out unless as Dean suspects its all about the money. In which case he will gladly take Snyder to the cleaners.

He will stay. And be signed LTDlol, you are disagreeing and agreeing with part of my response, when really i think we were on the same page.
"i think"

If say the Skins won one playoff game w/ Cousins & barely lost another playoff game then I think that motivation would be there for both sides to extend (unless both sides acted like total jerks). Given the chance to make very good money & make a true SB run the following season things would likely look different especially if someone like the 49ers continues to look awful next season. Time will tell - let's first wait & see how things work out this offseason. Some of you were maintaining that this all had to be resolved basically by this week which I believe to be totally incorrect.
