Flew on to Luxor where I was to do a 7 day Nile cruise seeing many temples along the way. Picked up my private Egyptologist guide where we headed promptly to the Karnak, then Luxor Temples. Because of the 10 picture limit, I'll show a few of each temple along the way.

Karnak, by far the largest of the Temples, used by multiple pharaohs. Covers acres.

These originally stretched for miles into downtown Luxor. They are considering restoring them to the path.

Karnak Temple, one of the many carvings on every inch, including the columns

Don't look up, the size of the stone will both impress & scare the crap out of you.

Moving on to Luxor Temple, right on the bank of the Nile.

You will see this carved image repeated in many of the temples along the way

One of the few color carvings to last through the floods, vandalism, sandstorms at Luxor Temple

inside the Luxor Temple, colorful carvings from floor to ceiling. A lot of the people height carvings were destroyed by Coptic Christians who were constantly on the run & would destroy any carvings they found at person height.

Luxor Temple, looking through the columns toward the Nile late afternoon. At night, there's a light show.
