Some people are angry here in Tucson. There's a group gathered at the stadium ATM yelling things like 'traitor' and 'snake'.

Candidates for the job here include whomever the Washington State coach is (lol), Jamey Chadwell and a few others. We could end up with at least one more angry fan base before this is over with.

(Then Harbaugh could take the Dallas or LA job! )

This is a great move for the Dawgs. It is crappy that that this is how CFB works, both with coaches and players.

I was nothing but impressed by the guy while he was in Tucson.

More sadness of modern NCAAFB, but I certainly hope it's true

Some rumors over in my area that Lance Leipold got offered the job and turned it down. Probably to stay closer to his wife's family + no west coast ties.

UDub may be a better gig, but I'd much rather have Arizona's schedule next year than Washington's and Arizona was poised to return more starters.

That's not what I heard. I heard early Saturday morning that Fisch was UW's #1 target among the guys they interviewed, including Leipold.

Arizona has a serious problem, it's broke. They probably wouldn't & couldn't have matched the $$$ offer of Washington. Capitalism wins again.

As far as players going with coaches, that might be a purer system than we had prior when players were forced to stay at schools with new staff that had recruited them and could cut them. Truth is players were always largely loyal to staff over schools and that makes sense since that's ultimately what impacts them and their experience in CFB the most.

The transfer portal, coaching changes and NIL have taught us two things: People are still loyal to other people more than organizations and $$$ matters. I don't feel horrified by that.

My sincere condolences to Arizona fans. This is almost too cruel. Next year was shaping up to be maybe your best season ever, with a probable conference championship to boot.

Washington owes Nick Saban & Alabama big time. Talk about falling into luck. With the impending AZ transfers, Washington will be twice the team it would have been with DeBoer in place next season.

Let's see how many of those guys actually transfer before we crown UW. I'm hearing Fifita and T-MAC are planning on staying at Arizona

If that’s the case then no way is UW bowl eligible next season.

I'd say this was about as good a scenario as possible for Washington. We will have a mountain of a task to have a roster ready this fall, but all things considered, this stabilized the situation and can push forward now.
Yep.

He did a really good job with Arizona.

Many have been just claiming that all of the Zona players are going to just follow the coaches over to Washington. There needs to be some reality checks on that. It's very complicated considering the gaga involved with transferring from school to another. And even more so if your transferring from a easier academics situation like Arizona to a school like Washington. It could months before we have a clearer picture of whose going to be joining Washington, and who ends up staying at Arizona or goes elsewhere.
