I like the signing. Foster is a versatile and experienced RB.

Yes pretty nice not a lot of risk they need a veteran presence. He also won't be asked to carry the ball 30 times a game so that will help him. I like it...

If he's healthy and can play in 10-12 games....this wouldn't be a bad move at all. He's only 2 seasons removed from a campaign where he averaged 4.8yp[c and scored 8 TD's. He's only 29 but the Texans worked him hard.

Overall, I give this move a B-. We'll see how it works out for them.

I think that it will be running back by committee which should preserve Foster. He won't be expected to carry the ball 30 times. I think that this will be a good fit for him.

If he's healthy for 3/4th's of the season, it's a great move, at a great price.

If he was 32 or so it might be different but he's still relatively young at 29 and IF he can stay healthy it'd be a good pickup. A RB by committee approach would help preserve him as well. His days of 300-plus carries are far behind him. If they can limit him to 200 or so he could get 800-900 yards and 6-7 TD's. I'm sure he signed an incentive laden contract.

Who is his main competition for PT? Noticed Lamar Miller is with the Texans now.

Ajayi, Jay & Drake, Kenyan are the two possible #1's with Daniel Thomas and Damien Williams as possible third down/goal line backs. So I hope they should be able to use Foster sparingly at the start and work him in to more carries (15-20) mid late season, maybe earlier?

I believe that they'll give the tough carries to the young guys keeping Foster fresh and available for key times in the game. But if the young guys perform Foster may just end up being more of a depth guy who will be ready if injuries strike. The key is how much will they trust those young guys in key situations? Foster may find his time there...

Foster has been having a great training camp. He's catching the ball really well. His versatility will make the no huddle offense more effective. Ajayi is back at practice today. He may be better carrying the ball but Foster is a natural pass catcher with a lot of experience at getting open. Drake has the talent to be a factor also when he's healthy.

Yes it will be interesting the wiley vet knows what it takes but it's a long season.

Drake is injured again. He's got a lot of potential but it's tough to count on him so far in this early stage of his career. I hope he has a full recovery.

Having depth is never a bad thing since RB's take such a beating.

Agreed that's why it's not a big deal as to who actually wins out you need 3-4 guys at RB in a season. Depth is key...

I wouldn't have minded the Raiders bringing him in. Taiwan Jones doesn't impress and the kid from Tech is a rookie.
