This may not work if some guy or gal drafts at 10:00PM on a Tuesday night I can't wake from a dead sleep an know he she has drafted. One way to help speed it along is that once you draft you are obligated to send a personal message to the next drafter. If that person is taking an extra ordinary amount of time then whomever is spearheading this will select for that person.

Time clock, like the post above says. 8am-8pm would be the time we could make the picks. Then the clock turns off until the next day where it repeats from 8-8 again. It could work, trust me. Played in plenty of these on other forums.

Why does it have to be done in one day? I say make it seven rounds and if it takes three weeks so what? What needs to be established is the amount of time allotted to draft and the consequences of missing your draft.

I said it doesn't have to be done in one day and said the 4 hour time slot sounds reasonable for the 1st round and said an 8 a.m. to 8 p.m. seems like a reasonable time slot so somebody isn't having to get up at 2 a.m. somewhere and make a pick. This also would help balance it in the latest someone would have to pick say we set this for Eastern time is 8 p.m. and the earliest it would start for somebody on the West Coast would be 6 a.m. (Sorry West Coast people you seem to get screwed once again if we go East Coast just like in the regular NFL season of having 10 a.m. start times for games).

nosferato I think Clayton sounded like he would do the Rams and a Pittsburgh fan said they would obviously draft for Pitt so those two spots would be filled.

It will never be done in a day, nor should we want it to be done in a day. You gotta have patience to do these games.

Well Johnnydollaz89 if you would be one of the people that put this together then I can be another that helps with it.

I agree we couldn't finish it in 1 day. Most likely have to have the draft open from like 8 a.m. to 8 p.m. each day and like you said give a certain window for those picks. I could probably live with 4 hours.

That is how we run the fantasysharks leagues through Myfantasyleague. But I think there is like a 6-8 hour window to make picks. I think we went from 10 am est to 10 pm est with the clock & then pm'd the commish when someone had surpassed their time & their pick was auto drafted. The key is to have the draft commissioner/panel keep on top of teams who go over their allotted time.

Also, I think we should hold these type of drafts once a month till the real NFL draft. It will give us something to do & a chance to get feedback from your team's board & maybe improve your draft as time goes along.

You need separate sticky threads for the draft, trades, & draft talk so that the first two don't get cluttered with useless posts.

This. And also idk how we will update the draft board on page one since it only gives us 5 minutes to edit posts. We would need a moderator to be apart of the commish team.

Well Johnnydollaz89 if you would be one of the people that put this together then I can be another that helps with it.

I will, let's get it filled up and we'll get a draft board and then a discussion thread up as well.

Trading players for picks is fine

In my experience this didn't work well... But we can try...

To Note: In the event your pick is coming up and you know you cannot make it you can always PM the HMFIC with the pick preference

Yess, always send a list if you're up within a few picks and know you wont be on. One of the 4 commishes should be on and can make your pick based on your rankings.

I think that is a must, leaving a list that is, it keeps the draft moving along nicely...

So do we need to put a time limit on open spots and give fans of those teams first crack at it but if things are not filled by a certain time then open it up to anybody from another team to pick a certain team that might interest them? I ask this since there are some teams on this board that have very little fan base and probably are not checked very often. Since there are quite a few fans say of the 49ers, Seahawks, Redskins, and others maybe they would like to fill some of those spots.
