Johnnydollaz that all sounds good to me on the time limits. So now we just need to figure out a date. As I can tell right now the established rules are...

1. Each pick at least for the first round will be 2 hour time limit to make the pick.
2. The draft will run from 8-8 (eastern standard time) every day until the draft is done.
3. Trades are allowed but they must be realistic and cannot include future picks that have no bearing on this draft. Player trades are allowed as well but once again must be realistic. A panel of 3-5 people will have to ok every trade offer to make sure they are not Madden type trades.
4. If you know you are not going to be one possibly when your team picks then a list of possible players in order of preference must be submitted before your pick comes up. If it is not then a player will be drafted from a predetermined list.
5. I think we said that we were going to try to do one of these every month up to the draft so if you figure out you cannot participate as much as you want then open your spot up to another individual that can.

Now the trade thing are we allowing it or not...I would say maybe stay away from player trades and just leave it at draft picks. This keeps it a little simpler but still makes the draft half way realistic.

I am also for having one before the Combine then after and then again in April and then maybe the week before the draft when most everything has gotten sorted out. Maybe that is overkill but I am one that loves mock drafts.

This sounds awesome. Can't wait to get it going. But I read through the thread and saw it changed to no player trades, and its 10-10 instead of 8-8 to make it easier on the west coast people. I think this is all very fair and we are set up with rules. Just need to set up dates. I think we should wait at least another week to allow people to do some player research and prepare for the draft.

The only thing with waiting a week means this draft will not get done until after the Combine unless people are just really on it with getting picks in. By my calculation each time we do this the draft will take about 2 weeks and that is actually pushing it. My guess is right now people can figure out the 1st round pretty easily of what players are available. Most of the research on players is needed on the mid to late round guys as most of them are unheard of people. I say we could start this maybe Monday-Wednesday of this next week. Or at least somewhere in there. I know we don't have all of the spots filled but my guess is they will be with how fast this has gone in the 1st 2 days. Plus then that helps people not forget that they signed up for this.

How many of these are we planning on doing? I like the idea of a pre-combine, post-combine, and then a lead up one to the draft. We'll all know so much about the draft by then, that we'll all have legit reasons to be upset at our team's picks lol.

Just one, we're drafting as if we're the actual GM of the team. Anymore than 1 is too much and I certainly don't have time to run all that.

Okay. Maybe for those of us that would like to do more can find a way to keep it going after this one. I would like to, I just don't know if I can fully commit to running the show. I guess we'll have to see how much interest this has in the first place. I have to remember that this isn't ESPN. There were so many people there, it was just plug and play. And there was a ton of interest. Don't know if we can generate that here.

True. I guess the process would get old if you did it multiple times and had an idea of what players were going where. It would ruin the fun. So yeah, you're right. One is all we need. So we're going to wait until after the combine then?

This. I would like to have a pre & post combine draft just to compare to see how much does the combine & other people's picks influence the second draft.

And I'd also like to try a different approach each time and see what I can come up with. Like for this first draft. I'm stock piling picks. I've already proposed a trade to the Browns who are looking for another 1st round pick.
