Well... I think you're joking but in case that isn't the case, you can see Ceci turn away from the shot therefore getting hit in the ear and not full in the mush.

If he's standing in the corner and that thing had been shot at him, guaranteed he doesn't react at all.

Yeah, definitely joking. I love the GIF though because you see the Preds forward (Dumont maybe, hard to see for sure) and the goalie both ducking too. Everybody sees Weber winding up and their first instinct is (try) not to get hit in the head.

I could see it actually having some usefulness for some training drills for youth hockey (where the shots wouldn't be hard enough to hurt anyone) to help teach balance (unpredictability so they can't cheat to one side), but use in a game would be absurd.

I agree here, as I said earlier. It could be helpful in positioning drills: don't cheat and don't get caught leaving your man!!

How the fuck do you shoot it?
the idea of taking a one timer is that you know exactly the surface you contact.

I love the graphic that shows "the evolution of the hockey puck", as if the Aaltopuck is more "evolved" and superior to the standard puck

It really is amazing how much it has evolved from the 16th century to the 21st century (so far).

Little known fact, historians have actually found drawings of the Aaltopuck among Leonardo Da Vinci's sketch books. He was centuries before his time! Unfortunately the technology just wasn't there in his day to mass produce these works of art.

I think the aaltopuck sketches made up the second half of his submarine book.

I'd love to see a preseason game played with that thing.

Sometimes it's good to "cheat" though, it's all part of learning how to read the play
