part of the reason smith isn't being asked to throw more is bad pass blocking and the lack of talent at wr. crabtree not being able to beat out morgan is pathetic

and if smith were to pass more, he'd have to do it from the spread.

Why would he have to do it from the spread?

Except I gave you Smith's rankings. He's barely top 10 in the conference in yards and TDs. What QB has made the Pro Bowl with those numbers?

no qb should make the pro bowl with a ypa under 7. guys have made it passing for 200 yards a game. they're relying on the running game just like smith is this year yet they still make the pro bowl.

This makes no sense, so I'll just say this.

It's a new era for offense. What happened in 2009 is no longer relevant.

forces teams into nickle, less pass rushers

So Smith, can't make the pro bowl playing in a traditional pro offense? Yeah, sounds like a pro bowl QB.

Tebow can make the Pro Bowl if Denver runs the read-option.

maybe you should root for the other team

smith finally starts playing well going back to last season after the eagles game and ppl just want to nitpick every little thing. look at how he's playing today.

wake up. reminds me of how everyone told me brees sucked after his 3rd season.

You're the one that said he needs the spread offense to be in the top 10 in TD passes.

Won't get any disagreement from me this week about saying Smith had a great game.

19/30 242 yards, 8.1 per pass, 1 TD and an INT that wasn't his fault.

Glad the 49ers showed the willingness to pass against a bad secondary, although that might have just been because Gore wasn't 100%.

Oh, I left out the 2 pt conversion. That was huge too

He should of had 2 TD and 0 int (damn you Ginn). Alex Smith confidence has definitely increased this season.

I won't say he out played Eli Manning because Eli made so many clutch throws and perfect throws, but at the end of the game it's about winning. Eli Manning put his team in a position to lose with his 2 Int's, the last one be killer. Alex Smith on the other hand kept his team in a position to win and win they did.

I don't think Eli's second INT was his fault. It looked like Manningham broke the route off.

So Alex was about on par with how he's played all year today. Maybe even a little better. The INT wasn't his fault, and he lost Gore early on. Well done Alex.

Today was Alex's best game of the season by far IMO.

Hell....this has to be right up there in his whole career if you consider everything. And I'm not talking about just the numbers.
