Speaking of Davis, the jump catch shit needs to be put to rest already. I couldn't believe my eyes on the one where he jumped and the ball hit him in his fucking knee. Come on man.

That dude is going to shatter his leg one of these days with that shit. Eventually the timing on the defender's tackle is going to be perfect, hitting him low just after he gets his leg planted while coming down from that little hop... and with his cleats stuck in the dirt, either bones or ligaments are going to give.
I don't think Eli's second INT was his fault. It looked like Manningham broke the route off.
Your math is flawless. I have them losing a close one to the Ravens because of the travel factor on a short week and getting dominated by the Steelers because Rothlisberger will pick them apart with no 49er pass rush. Then each team usually has a game that they lose that they shouldn't lose every season. The 49ers have not had theirs yet. I don't see them sweeping the division. Probably will be the Seattle game up there. 12 and 4 is pretty damn good though and should be good enough for the 2 seed.
it always seems like either smith makes a great throw and it's a drop or a guy is wide open and smith misses him. if the stars aline in the playoffs we could drop like 50 on the packers lol
Reminds me of elementary school when we were first learning football. We all tended to jump as we caught the ball. It's unbelieveable that he hasn't broken that habit after all these years especially playing at the level he plays at. No other receiver in pro ball does that. I bet there is no college receiver who still does that.
Haha, I passed elementary school with flying colors. Saying "I would not be surprised" suggests that something worse (11-5) could happen but you wouldn't be surprised to get something better (12-4). What I was saying was, I would be surprised not to win at least 12, as in 11-5 is out of expectation. I was saying the inverse of what you said. I think 12 is the minimum and if you think 12 is the minimum too, then saying "I wouldn't be surprised" sounds like it doesn't express your prediction, but rather limits of surprise.
What's with all the Vernon Davis hate? The guy does a ton of things very well.
It seems for many that Alex Smith can do no wrong while VD and Crabtree can do no right.
I am going to go ahead and call you all nitpicky.

this isn't being nit-picky at all. if you watch other teams all stars, they make these plays. smith, crabtree, and vd should all be held to that standard. when our guys start making those plays, we'll be serious Superbowl contenders. right now i feel like we are just on the outside of the truly elite.
we've been waitin for smith to pick up his socks for so long, we don't wanna wait for anyone else!
Got it.........I think. I'm predicting 12 wins as the final outcome. Barring an injury to Alex Smith that is. 13 is possible.
I cannot believe I am typing this...
12-4 would be a disappointment.
Davis has been well beyong what Smith is now since he got here and Crabtree is progressing quicker than Smith did.
apples and oranges when it comes to progression
Isn't that basically what happened on that bizarre fumble/INT/incompletion against Pittsburgh several years ago? He came down and Troy Polamalu took his legs out from under him? As memory serves, he missed several games after that.
