Or you could learn a thing or two.
Shit happens. Most of his plays are better than that really important one.
I should have grabbed the second post in this thread with...
In before wildly insecure Patriots fans and @eaglesnut...
Tom Brady is the 6th wealthiest player in the history of the NFL. His situation is extremely unusual.
A. He's extremely marketable and will be as long as the Patriots are relevant and he's playing.
B. The legacy he's working on will ensure he's extremely marketable long after his playing days are over.
C. His wife makes more than he does.
He doesn't need to command top dollar right now and the Patriots are reaping the benefits. It actually benefits him personally in the long run to not take take dollar now.
Nice theory... except he has had a history of making room and taking less over the years.
Perhaps he understands not to be so greedy with cap % so that he & the team can be successful?

It is a risk for a player but it is one that can pay off big time. The more successful the team the more opportunities beyond football the player has to make up for lost income. Companies don't exactly want to throw huge money at a player on a losing organization. Now some players can transcend that like Calvin Johnson but for most players it does help tremendously to be on a winning organization. So it definitely makes some sense to take a little less to give your team the best shot. Throw in it does then help win fan appreciation for that player to look so selfless. So good image boost while most likely still making just as much money.

Haha this is exactly what I was thinking. Beyond Luck that team just doesn't have much that should get you excited. They have some WR talent, a good Corner, and now a couple nice pieces on the OL but otherwise nothing that should scare any team in the league beyond Luck.
Depth won't matter. Luck has incentives in his contract for blocking on the O-line before he drops back to pass.
Shouldn't have any trouble pancaking a few defensive ends before he drops back to pass......
As a Colts fan it's great to see Luck locked up. Let's hope we can get enough talent with the team to win the Super Bowl during the life of this contract.
For all the academic handwringing that goes into paying QB's as seen in this thread- it's pretty much a no brainer. Many of the organizations paying significant money to QB's actually win more than those that don't which kind of flies into the face of some of the folks insisting the QB must be cheap in order to win. Some of that is survivor bias (average-good QB's get paid, bad ones like Sanchez do not) but it's worth noting nonetheless. It's a no-brainer signing and great for the Colts organization. Even Irsay couldn't screw up that one.
