I would also add Sage Surratt and Dylan Moses to the list.

IDK about Dylan Moses. There wasn't any progression from him 2018 to 2020. He tore an ACL August camp 2019 and when he came back in 2020 he wasn't the same. He did state that he found out he had a torn meniscus that the team doctors had been referring to as a deep bruise and that had an affect from 3rd week on this past fall. I think it was a small tear. You could tell he wasn't right because his lateral movements were labored.

I am surprised you are not fuming about passing on JOK.

Nah. They know 1000x more than I could even fathom of knowing. No sense in getting mad or upset about it.

I was disappointed though they didn't draft him but there has to be a damn good reason why they didn't

Not much left out there though. Day 3 is always tough. Always risk on those players. Maybe round 4 there is still some known talent but after that it is all unknowns.

Mebert had what I thought was a good choice for LB in TCU Garrett Wallow. He's a former S convert to LB the last couple of years. At least he's a good run defender and pretty good at coverage.

I would love Jamar Johnson, I was hoping for him at 101.

Garrett Wallow, Trey Smith, or anyone of several receivers would be pretty cool.

I really don't care that they ignored WR in this draft. I can't think of a scenario when this team was going to be competitive. Building the foundation while finally adding some elite athletes is a big win for me. They have 4 1sts in the next 2 drafts, adding a wr should be easy by the time Lions are ready to compete.

Derrick Barnes, a Linebacker. I have no information on that guy at all, ahead of Cox so Lions must really like him.

I am afraid we only took guys from the west pretty much. St. Brown was a good pick there. Barnes can play all over but there is a question mark there for me. Seems raw. Hopefully that last pick is for Pooka.

Only 3 of these are from the west, unless I am missing something.

We will see on Barnes, it seems likely he won't be a contributor year 1.

@Stomp got Amon-Ra St. Brown correct as one of the players he liked

great hands and body control but not going to have a 2nd gear all that much

still a good pick, imo

something is amiss to the general public and media draft sites regarding Jabril Cox as to why he allegedly fell so far. Pro scouts and GM's have info on him that we don't or a big miss on our part. Maybe it's his lack of willingness in run support. idk

Most had him being drafted by early 3rd round

as a fan, it appears on the outside as a bit of a price to pay to get him right there.

NFL Draft Profile: Derrick Barnes - Hammer and Rails

A 4 year starter at Purdue, Derrick Barnes was placed all over the field. He played Inside Linebacker, Outside Linebacker and Defensive End. He was a stat stuffer, totaling over 226 tackles, 10 sacks in 39 career games.

Barnes was the senior leader for the Boilermakers this past fall, he was a small bright spot on an otherwise dreadful defense.

He was already in the talks as a day 3 steal, then came his pro day.

From ProFootballNetwork.com, they stated this on Barnes.

“ Positives: Underrated linebacker who plays with a vicious attitude. Displays a good head for the ball, is effective in pursuit, and chases hard to make plays on the ball handler. Moves well laterally, gets out to the flanks, and is rarely off his feet. Uses his hands to protect himself, easily changes direction, and has a closing burst. Wraps up tackling and brings down bigger ball handlers or tight ends in space. Fires up the field, defeats blocks, and is a devastating run defender.

Negatives: Lacks height and may be tapped out physically. Not fluid flipping his hips in transition with tight ends or running backs in coverage.”
