When you're asked to not even play a dozen games over 3 seasons, things are REALLY not going well.

That's the worst part about preseason hockey. The last hockey you saw for a few months was playoff hockey, which is really good. Then you get to preseason and even the start of the regular season and the hockey you get sucks. Hence the reason I don't watch/follow preseason hockey.

I think the Islanders are only playing 5 preseasn games this year. Whch is very odd. I tend to believe they need all the preseason games they can get. The lack of preseason games will probably guarantee Niederreiter plays the first 8 games of the season. At that point they'll decide whether he goes back to junior.

I can definitely understand that. Believe me I'm interested to follow who wins the Sharks starting job in goal to start the season and seeing if any rookies stand out. Still it doesn't get me into watching the preseason games though. I've tried before, and I lose interest quickly.
