I been watching Rodgers since he was at Cal. With that being said, I still think this is the same team that was a wildcard last season playing with extreme confidence. It's part of the game dealing with injuries. I've said all season that after their first loss they would come back down to reality. Don't be shocked if they don't win the Superbowl, they're not going to.

Statistically speaking, no one should be surprised if GB doesn't win the SB considering less than 16% of SB's have been won by the previous winner. Furthermore, if this is in fact, "the same team that was a wildcard last season", then doesn't that automatically make them capable of repeating since the Wild Card team from last year did win the SB?

I've watched 10 GB games this year and they look pretty capable of repeating to me. What are you sensing will happen to GB now that they have lost their first game that will carry over to the playoffs and cause their elimination?

Green Bay also lost one of the best WRs in all of football (Jennings), and they were down to their 7th string RT. Bulaga should be back for the playoffs; don't know about Sherrod or the other one who got hurt.

the #1 guy is critical to an offense. not to mention offensive line injuries. rodgers was bound to have an average game and the injuries did it. not to mention even if kc is bad, kc can be a tough place to win a football game.

People keep mentioning that but why?? It sounded like atleast half the crowd was packer fans. They were definitely louder then the chief fans. I can see that it would be tough place if the crowd was rocking and making it tough for the packers but they werent.

I sense that their inability to get to the qb this season will in fact leave a team capable of playing keep away from Rodgers and company. If that does happen I sense the overconfidence kick in and could leave Rodgers trying to do too much, causing a crucial error. It all will be based on getting pressure in his face by jamming the wr's and knocking off the timing.
The Packers defense is near the bottom of the league in sacks, they give up 4.7 yds a carry, plus they are next to last in recieving yds given up. With all that said, a team like N.O will get past them, we have a chance to get past them if we run and focus on short passes and the Eagles (if they squeak in) could all beat the Packers because we all can run the ball and play keep away from Rodgers.

#1 seed still up for grabs here. GB lose out and we win out. Not sure what the tie breaker looks like but maybe a possibility? High unlikely though.

'83, here are the scenario's, interpreted to the best of my understanding:

If both NO and GB won out, NO would be eliminated via the 'conference record' tie-breaker.

The 49ers & GB tie-breaker should come down to common opponent which we would win 5-0 vs 4-1.

If for some reason it went past 'common opponent' the next tie-breaker is 'strength of victory'. (Kind of makes a case for 'Belichick'ing' your opponent).

In order to win the 'strength of victory' tie-breaker we would have to win our next two game by 15 pts or more and GB would have to lose their next two games by 15 or more.

If it went past SOV it would then come down to SOS, GB currently has a 1 game advantage in SOS (88-108 vs 87-109)

Rodgers sure looks average without a #1 WR carrying him.

I guess I'll just ignore that, and keep pretending that he is the best QB ever. Montana's cool, Steve Young's legs, Manning's Arm, Brady's accuracy... yadda yadda yadda.

LOL..... Yea. He looked average with all of his receivers dropping passes and his offensive line depleted. And Jerry Rice was a total slouch, I can't believe Montana and Young ever threw to that guy.

What is it about you 49ers fans that Rodgers does this little twist on your panties so easily?

What ever happened to the only way a team could beat Green Bay was to outscore Rodgers, I'm not sure if I saw people saying it here or over on Troll forum but this game looked a lot like what the guys were hoping a game in January at Lambeau field would be like, passing game ineffective leaving GB a well below average team when they need to rely on running game and defense.

Oh and btw, why do people always cry about injuries. Everyone has to deal with them, I don't think any team or fan base out there cries harder than the Packers though. last year when they went on and on about how injury depleted they were when the only meaningful starter injured was Finley (I could very possibly be wrong about that, maybe they had 2 actual starters on IR, I don't count Grant because he is dogshit) but they had 13 2nd and 3rd stringers on IR so they had a magical run...

I keep wanting to believe that... but I just don't think the 49ers secondary has it in them to beat the Packers. Unless Jennings is still hurt or hobbled by the NFC Championship, and the officials keep Jordy Nelson honest by flagging him twice for offensive pass interference early in the game like they did in the Chiefs game. Hell, I think those two flags may have kept their entire receiving corps honest... which explains the first half shut out.

Plus, I don't have any faith in the O-Line to stick it to Green Bay and let Frank Gore beat them... the way the Chiefs dominated them.

yeah, our QB and O-line simply aren't at SB levels. while we do have a chance in the play-offs..........cause chit happens........have to agree this O-line can't "stick it" run or pass.

"chit happens" refer mainly to turnovers, if we can get'em ala Cards a few years ago......

The Saints actually look like the best team in the NFL right now. Early in the year I didn't think they were that great, but they are really playing well lately.

In cold weather Rodgers struggle. Brees a bit too, but not as bad as Rodgers. In addition, Brees is not as potent in grass + cold weather as he is inside a dome (fast track). This is why it is pertinent for us to get the 2nd seed. It gives our secondary somewhat of a chance. The Seahawks defeated the Saints last year in similar scenario.

Cullen Jenkins proved that he was a key injury when he came back and instantly boosted the defense. Barnett and Chillar were critical, but Bishop and Hawk were able to step up as time progressed, but it took more than half the season for Bishop to develop into that role. Grant had been a key to their offense up until he was injured, and they didn't find a running game after he went down until LATE in the season. I mean do you really believe that you know what you're talking about? Because you sound like a total moron in this post. I mean if you really believe that no starting offensive tackles and Nick Collins out for the year isn't going to do some damage to the team, you don't know a god damn thing about football. Everybody DOES have injuries, and most teams who suffer the injuries the Packers had last season fold like a sheet of paper.

I don't think Rodgers struggled as poorly as people believe. He does struggle in cold weather, but 50 degrees is about what he's used to in October and November...so...I don't think that works as an excuse for yesterday.
