Darren Elliott says refs were totally wrong on the Abs call.

Personally, I can't help but believe that if it was the other way around Duck fans would be telling us to suck it up and stop being pussies.

Even if the refs were wrong, he took a good five to six strides in from the blue line to deliver the hit to Lydman who was on the goal line - when you cover that kind of distance to deliver a monster hit and leave your feet, regardless of where the principal point of contact is, the refs are usually going to call a penalty on that. It may be a cleaner hit that it appeared at first, but it wasn't a smart one.

The hit didn't look that bad at first glance... but if you go back and watch it Abby did hit Lydman in the head. I didn't know that you could call a penalty 3 minutes after the play occurred, so they can look at replays? But it was the right call I think

He stopped skating a couple feet before he hit him so it wasn't a charge in that aspect, but he definitely jumped and got him in the head with the shoulder

Big problem I have is that none of the refs called a penalty on it. Instead a linesman said that he thought it was a high hit. If that's the case, how come they didn't get together on the souray boarding call in the last game and deem it a major. You either call it a penalty right away or you don't. Is just like high sticking penalties, you either see it and call it or you don't see and don't call it. You don't go back 3 minutes later and then decide that I missed and give him a penalty

Game of momentum...we were playing well then they get the PP goal. We fight back get on the PP and miss the tying goal by | | much and the the douche capitalizes on a big mistake.

It seems like the defense just realized Dekeyser wasn't playing...

You know as well as I that you're suppose to move the puck quickly in your zone as soon as you see a forechecker coming down the middle, especially before he gets too deep, so that he cuts down many of the passing lanes. We do that far too much as a team, so it isn't surprising to me to see that happen to Brunner. Kronwall is notorious for holding the puck too long in those situations, and both of those guys know better. Getzlaf set the bait and Brunner handed him the fish.
But, the thing that pissed me off before that was why Sammy is on the PP for almost a minute to begin the man advantage for us. He has no more purpose being out there on that PP than the guy selling the cotton candy. WTF is Babcock thinking anyway. If that isn't pure stupidity, nothing is.
