Here's a rundown of the AL starting lineup:

Tigers first baseman Prince Fielder, the 2011 All-Star Game MVP and winner of the 2009 Home Run Derby, will make his fourth All-Star appearance and first as a member of the American League.

Yankees second baseman Robinson Cano, winner of last year's Home Run Derby, got the starting nod for the third consecutive time, his fourth All-Star Game selection.

Yankees shortstop Derek Jeter is back in the All-Star Game for the 13th time in his career. The Yankees captain bowed out of last year's game, citing exhaustion from the mental and physical rigors of the pursuit of his 3,000th career hit and the need for rest over the All-Star break.

The two-time defending American League champions Texas Rangers will be well represented in Kansas City. Third baseman Adrian Beltre, starting for the second consecutive year, is back in the All-Star Game for the third time in a row and catcher Mike Napoli is an All-Star for the first time. Josh Hamilton, winner of the 2008 Home Run Derby, is now a five-time All-Star.

Boston designated hitter David Ortiz is an All-Star for the eighth time. Yankees center fielder Curtis Granderson and Blue Jays right fielder Jose Bautista can each smile knowing that they are both three-time All-Stars and in the starting lineup for the second consecutive year.

The visiting NL starting lineup will look like this:

Giants catcher Buster Posey, the 2010 NL Rookie of the Year, has bounced back from a devastating ankle injury that wiped out last season to earn the starting nod behind the plate in his first appearance in the Midsummer Classic. Joining Posey in the NL's starting lineup are teammates Pablo Sandoval, who was named to last year's team by Giants manager Bruce Bochy, at third base and fellow first-time All-Star Melky Cabrera in the outfield.

Cincinnati first baseman Joey Votto is slated to make his third appearance in the All-Star Game, but his first start. Joining the slugger in the infield are Atlanta second baseman Dan Uggla and St. Louis shortstop Rafael Furcal, who both have been part of two All-Star teams but will be making their first starts.

St. Louis veteran Carlos Beltran, who is making his seventh All-Star Game appearance, and injured Dodgers center fielder Matt Kemp, who was voted in as a starter for the second consecutive year, round out the rest of the NL outfield.

How is Wright not starting at third? Sandoval? Really?

And Aaron Hill should be on the National League team, and probably starting.

Mets fans just didn't vote like they should've, but wright should be starting. Hill can still get in on the final vote. I voted for him and Darvish.

Also, Hamilton didn't win the 2008 home run derby (though it certainly seems that way) Justin Morneau did.

I thought it was funny there was an article on espn bitching about rangers fans stuffing the ballot box. How many times have we seen undeserving Yankee or Red Sox players get voted into the starting lineup with the same crap, and nobody said a word. Gtfo.

This lineup proves TLR is still a whiny little bitch. Picking Kershaw over Cueto.

Kershaw:
IP: 108.1
ERA: 2.74
HR: 11

Cueto:
IP: 107.2
ERA: 2.26
HR: 6

And how in the hell do ATL fans think Uggla is more deserving than BP?

as i got old I realized that the All star isn't about getting the best players in the game but getting a game of players that people want to see.

There's not a huge difference there. Also.

Kershaw
K/bb: 103/27
Whip: 1.04
QS: 11

Cueto
K/bb: 79/25
Whip: 1.14
QS: 13

Pretty close numbers, but kershaw has the edge in two of those categories. I'd probably give the nod to the cy young winner too.

Oh man, I skimmed right over Uggla. He's a borderline All-Star at best. And yet he's starting?

LaRussa obviously still holds a grudge against Cueto and Phillips over the 2010 fight.....

ESPN MLB A.J. Pierzynski not happy with All-Star snub

What's that you say? AJ Pierzynski can't be a bigger bitch? Challenge accepted.

Grow up you little bitch. It's well known he's a complete asshole. He's also not taking into account that Napoli was picked by the fans, not Wash. Yeah Naps doesn't look great right now, but he was picked for his performance in the second half last year which deserves recognition. Way to stay classy though AJ.

Would've liked to have seen Prado on there. He can play anywhere and do it very very well while hitting over .300. Bourn has a good case to be there too. Uggla starting is a joke. But I'm one who believes if the fans vote in the starters, the game should be nothing more than an exhibition game. If they want it mean something let the players and managers put the team together.
