The Cutler vs Avalon match on Dark tonight was pretty good. Fun story they got going on

What I wonder is who are both of them finally going to beat to get that elusive first win?

I thought that the action tonight was pretty solid. Just a couple of things bothered me. First, in the main event, while I had no problem with P&P losing, I wasn't a fan of Best Friends having to rely on Orange Cassidy to do it. I feel like the story should've been them overcoming the disadvantage of being in the street fight that Santana and Ortiz would be specialists in and pulling out the win, not having to have a 3rd guy do it for them.
The second thing is Private Party. They should've come out pissed off and looking for revenge since Jericho and Hager allegedly attacked Matt Hardy. Instead, they do their normal entrance routine and act all happy go lucky.
One other thing. If the Archer vs. Moxley match is happening in four weeks, I wonder who they'll go with after that match for the PPV in November?

First, in the main event, while I had no problem with P&P losing, I wasn't a fan of Best Friends having to rely on Orange Cassidy to do it. To me it would be questionable if Best Friends were going for a Road Warriors/Steiner Brothers type mystique but I see them more in line with the New Age Outlaws or New Day.. they can be a top level tag team but one with a comedic element who can cheat to win a match, even as babyfaces. The ending kept Proud/Powerful strong too. That was so great I hope it elevates both teams.

MJF teasing a faction had me fantasy booking one with him as the third member of FTR with Cody eventually joining to make them the horsemen.

I think Kingston telling the Blade to keep his house in order is setting up a Nightmare family fued over Allie.

Jericho and Hager got the best match out of Private Party so far. There's so much talent in the tag division but I think Jericho/Hager and FTR are needed to bring structure to the matches.

Loved Jake going Roger Waters on his promo.

Great show with an incredible main event and an iconic closing shot.

To me it would be questionable if Best Friends were going for a Road Warriors/Steiner Brothers type mystique but I see them more in line with the New Age Outlaws or New Day.. they can be a top level tag team but one with a comedic element who can cheat to win a match, even as babyfaces. They shouldn’t have the tough guy mystique. But as a plucky baby-face team that can surprise you, sure. While I don’t think that Proud and Powerful lost anything since it took three people to beat them, I’m not seeing how this helps Best Friends at all. Only way I wouldn’t have had a problem seeing Orange is if maybe Sammy came in at some point to help turn the tide and Orange took care of him.

I think if AEW signed AOP when they’re available in December, they should form a stable with Archer as bad asses that love inflicting pain. Maybe keep the alliance with Tazz’ group and see if the crowds enjoy it and maybe turn them into a face/antihero group since there’s really none of them at the moment.

Somewhat off-topic: I was going to ask, after I saw rumors of USA Network wanting to move NXT off Wednesdays, how quickly you AEW fans (not just here but everywhere) would proclaim victory and take a "well deserved" victory lap for the mighty and righteous AEW. Then I decided to dive headfirst into the cesspool known as Twitter and they've already proclaimed victory and take their "well deserved" victory lap. Every Thursday, when Bryan "if you ain't AEW, you ain't shit" Alvarez tweets out the ratings for the 2 shows, like clockwork.

I feel like both shows would benefit if NXT moved to Tuesday's permanently. NXT does much better in the demo's on Tuesday's, which if I'm an USA exec, I'd want to sustain because that looks better to adverstisers, which can result in more money in the long run. Finishing in the top 10-15 every week in the key demos on a different day looks a lot better than finishing in the top 50 maybe once a month against your main competition. But the problem is, is that Vince hates any form of competition and will resort to any means necessary if it means destroying the other product in the process.

That's a bummer because I was looking forward to the 6 man after that hot segment to set it up last week. They did a decent job rewriting the show on the fly. It wasn't great, but it was entertaining. That opening tag match was sloppy as fuck though. Janela just isn't good enough. They should have kept that match short and had Miro destroy them once he got tagged in

Yeah, I think it's been easy to see why the Kiss-Janela team has primarily been relegated to Dark.

This weeks show was okay but not as good as last weeks. I wasn't a fan of having two back to back interview segments in the 2nd hour though. I was surprised not to see Stu Grayson and Alex Reynolds during either Dark Order match tonight.

I've not watched AEW in some time (work reasons), but didn't they have an episode of Dynamite air on Tuesday? If they did, did they also have an episode of Dynamite on Wednesday? Or was that a repeat of the Tuesday show? I can't seem to find confirmation on any of it.

Different episodes. The Tuesday night one was one hour and had three matches. Scorpio Sky beat Ben Carter in a real good match, Anna Jay beat Brandi and Shawn Spears beat Matt Sydal.

I just don't see them fitting into the Dark Order. If they wouldn't do that theoretical faction with Lance, I could also see them being MJF's bodyguards after Wardlow screws up and MJF fires him.

Hadn't heard that yet but that'd make sense. Surprised that the announcers wouldn't have made mention of that during the broadcast like they did with Archer. I guess with next weeks show already being taped (I'm assuming) that they won't be on next weeks show either.

I think they announced Archer since they announced the match last week and obviously had to explain why it wasn't happening. But I've seen some talk that a few people there might have it. There was also a guy from Dark and Serena Deeb as well. Brian Cage missed the show and apparently had a now deleted post saying he was sick, but it might not have been covid related.
