I think they announced Archer since they announced the match last week and obviously had to explain why it wasn't happening. But I've seen some talk that a few people there might have it. There was also a guy from Dark and Serena Deeb as well. Brian Cage missed the show and apparently had a now deleted post saying he was sick, but it might not have been covid related.
Yeah, I think the guy from Dark was the same guy that faced Scorpio Sky on the Tuesday night edition of Dynamite. Heard about Deeb as well earlier in the day. Didn't know about Cage being sick either. Sounds like that 6 man tag was just not meant to happen yesterday.

I just don't see them fitting into the Dark Order. If they wouldn't do that theoretical faction with Lance, I could also see them being MJF's bodyguards after Wardlow screws up and MJF fires him.

really?

Guys who can't talk who need a mouth piece and a need for destruction?

You don't think adding those 2 monsters doesn't make DO more of a threat?

And then you have a war games of Brodie, AoP and Grayson and Cody, Cardona, QT and Dustin.

Brody likes guys that are weaker than him physically, that he can push around if need be. Doing the Jake thing or have them be MJF’s new henchmen would be a good direction in my opinion.

Very solid episode of Dynamite from start to finish. The wrestling was top notch and they're just so consistently good at having meaningful stories going on for each part of the card.

One nitpick I have with it is with the SCU-FTR match. Now I have no problem with FTR being heelish to fake something to get Daniels ejected. But what I didn't really like is when the ref actually saw Tully cheating and didn't send him to the back as well. At least be consistent.

totally fair.

that’s a common problem in the industry. Not keeping things like that consistent

Enjoyed the dog collar match. There were two things on the show I really didn't like (I feel like I'm going to sound like Cornette with these two things). First, during the TH2 and FTR match. FTR did a move on Evans. Instead of rolling towards his corner where he was close to, he rolled all the way across the ring like an idiot. The second thing was when Miro and Sabian were playing the arcade game during the main event. I'm thinking "they must really think the product sucks if they'd rather play the game than to watch the match."

Can someone tell me why they took the TNT title off of Cody just to give it back to him?

The likely real reason is they needed the TNT Title to stay on TV while Cody was off filming that talent show that's gonna be on TBS

Aah gotcha. That makes sense. I wonder what comes of Brodie Lee now though.

making Lee a transitional champ was retarded.

Yes. And letting Brodie only be a transitional champ after they built him up as such a badass, a guy who dominated Moxley for most of the match and best Cody in 3 minutes, to lose after a few weeks, was kinda silly.

Yes and no. Well, maybe the answer is more "yes and it depends".

Lee winning the title the way he did put him over in a big way. There is no changing that. And he's had a good run with it even though I agree that I thought it should have been longer. And its not like he lost to Cody in some cheap fashion either. The match was brutal and entertaining so there's no real "shame" in losing that way so he's protected. But the "depends" part comes in with what happens to Lee now. Does the story with Cody continue? Does he move up into the AEW title picture? Does he move on to another interesting and compelling story? All of those options are on the table and he' still treated like a big deal. But if they just have him hanging around not really doing anything, then you can say it was a mistake to do what they did

You see this? They mentioned NJPW quite a bit last night with this and referencing Mox/Archer match. With Meij leaving New Japan, we might be getting a lot closer to some kind of partnership/cross promotion. The rumors were the biggest obstacle was Meij because he wasn't happy with how Omega and the Bucks left.

Oh yeah, I definitely noticed a couple of New Japan references. Surprised that they were allowed to use the Wrestle Kingdom footage from January. I knew that there was bad blood from both sides so I guess it’s possible that they could forge an alliance if last night was any indication.

Unpopular opinion:

The Young Bucks have fewer moves than Kevin Nash.

Lol,wut? If anything, they have too many. It's part of their schtick that they have so many trademark moves

Show was pretty good tonight but maybe tried to do a little too much. Since it was the anniversary, they obviously wanted it to feel special but at times the show felt a little rushed.

Didn't think that this weeks episode was anything special. I didn't think there was ever any doubt on who was winning the main event. And not sure if I'm a fan of doing a Kingston-Moxley match on the PPV when they just did one on Dynamite a couple of weeks ago.
Fast forwarded through the Big Swole-Shida match. Had no interest in it, especially since Swole usually bores me and isn't all that great in the ring to start with.
The Cody-Orange Cassidy match was okay but nothing great. It definitely didn't leave me interested in seeing a rematch in two weeks.
I do enjoy the Brit Baker-Tony Schiavone segments. Those are usually good for a couple of laughs.
I'm wondering where they're going with the Inner Circle-MJF segments. It's obvious that Sammy and Proud & Powerful see right through MJF. Speaking of Sammy, not the least bit surprised that he was the one that attacked Matt Hardy a few weeks ago but him talking didn't come off all that great in my opinion. Hope that their next match is their final match and Sammy can win and finally move on.
I didn't see much of the tag team title match but from what I did see, it looked decent enough but it was another one where I don't think that there was any doubt on who was winning. And during the match when the arcade machine was destroyed baffled me just because why would Kip be on the face side playing it instead of the heel side? Since that brought Miro out, I thought this was much better of a performance beating up some jobbers than that botch fest a few weeks ago against Janela and Kiss.
The tag team four way match drawing didn't do much for me either since that was the same type of stuff that happened to trigger that massive brawl a few days before that Casino Battle Royal.

I agree with both of you.

Pretty good show. But this would've been a good week to get an extra half hour from TNT. Also, I would've rather have Archer at a PPV because he was pretty believable as a contender to take the belt, but probably not on a Dynamite.

But I mean, stranger things have happened, and the Anniversary show is about as big of a show as you're gonna get for a potential title change without being a PPV.

But yeah, those 2 giants needed 20-30 min to beat the hell out of each other.

Cassidy/Cody was really good.

I would've rather had Miro cost BF the titles rather than come out after. he still could've been a bad ass without the match, which could've been given to Archer/Mox. But I like how he's being built as another giant who you will need to beat the hell out of to take down.

I didn't love the end of the match for Mox/Archer just for how the rest of the build was.

With 4 belts on the line, could've certainly had one title change.
