I think that’s the reason why you open the show with Punk/Darby. If you do lose the crowd a bit after that match you have plenty of time to get them back into it before the World title match main event.

Agreed.........

Episode 9 GIF by The Simpsons

but tonight is a cationary tale of Blowing your load early.

That is why i went strong match, tag tittles, Fluffer match, Womens battle royal, and them then top 2

That’s why I usually figure the Bucks go first, so they can get the crowd hot and then, they’ll put on something like the battle royal or the QT match that people aren’t that invested in afterwards to cool them down for a bit before the next big match.

I’d probably do something to the affect of

tag title match
womens battle royal
Jericho/MJF
womens title
QT/Wight
world title
Punk/Darby

I just don’t feel like anything will be able to follow the Punk match. But I understand the argument for Omega/Christian match going on last also. Either way, those two should be the final two matches.
Forgot about the Moxley/Kojima match. I’d probably place it between the women’s battle royal and the Jericho/MJF match.

Disappointed Pac/Andrade was canceled. That was the singles match I was most looking forward to on the card.

I was an advocate of a Bucks title match early in the card before we knew the opponent and stipulation but a Steel Cage match against the the Lucha Bros has MOTY potential. I would put that on later in the night.

I would open with Darby/Punk and close with the Omega/Christian title match but it's hard to determine the running order without knowing the surprises planned. Cole opening the show and Danielson closing the show in some context would be perfect

They announced tonight that Pac vs Andrade will take place on Rampage next Friday (Sept 10)

Solid episode. Much better than lasts weeks in my opinion. The four person booth is way too much. Also, still trying to understand why Taz acts like more of a face on commentary while Jericho acts more heelish since their roles are reversed in storylines.
Also, I might have missed it since I usually watch off the DVR but has Domino’s advertised on AEW programming since the Nick Gage match a month or so ago?

He’s not a face.

he’s just less of a heel than the faction he’s facing.

he and the ic haven’t acted very facish over this feud

The promo he did after the Pinnacle beat down was totally a babyface promo. He was playing up to the fans the whole time.

Punk was on Renee's podcast (out today) and he's heavily implying that he wants to form a tag team with Bryan Danielson and wrestle the Young Bucks.

I’d love to see a match with those two and FTR. That’d be great to watch.

I mentioned in a post last night how Jericho and Taz have switched roles at the announcers desk compared to storyline roles (Taz acts more like a face on commentary and Jericho acts more heelish) and he was saying how Jericho and the IC never really turned face.

Predictions for the show:

Jurassic Express/Best Friends beat HFO
Lucha Bros beat Young Bucks
Miro beats Eddie Kingston
Moxley beats Kojima
Thunder Rosa wins the Casino Battle Royal (I can think of a few guesses as to who the wild card is: Lana, Ruby Soho or one of the Iinspiration women)
Paul Wight beats QT Marshall
Britt Baker beats Kris Statlander
Jericho beats MJF
CM Punk beats Darby
Kenny Omega beats Christian Cage

Oh, I was mentioning how Chris Jericho was acting like a pure 100% babyface in the promo after they attacked Pinnacle in the back (when they gave MJF the swirly).
