He has taken a 1 win team to being undefeated 6 games in. He really turned that franchise from a laughing stock to a contender.

He has to be in the running for MVP right now along side Manning and Luck

Alex is certainly an upgrade for them, but there are several reasons the Chiefs have turned it around this year.

That Chiefs defense is for real. 10 sacks today. Unreal! Anyone campaigning for Alex to be MVP would have to address the argument that it is really the Chiefs D that has them where they are at right now.

They had that same D last year too.

Alex is part of the equation as he was here. The Chiefs are remarkably similar to us when Harbaugh first came aboard and early last season. They play safe, mistake free offense and dominating defense and special teams. MVP? No. But he certainly is exactly what the doctor ordered for the type of football that they want to play.

I disagree. He's exactly what they need for the type of the football they can get away with playing. I'm sure they'd like to see Bowe get involved and be more of a down field passing team. I'm sure Reid would like to do things more like he did in Philly.

But Alex Smith gives them the opportunity to be a very good team by not turning the ball over.

Right along side Manning? Think about that for a minute.

Maybe they're the same guys as last year, but they are certainly playing great D this year compared to last year. We can't put too much too much stock in beating the Raiders, though. I'm excited to see the Chiefs D match up with the Broncos.

Nah, this is pretty much how every MVP race goes for Alex.

Lol. Alex Smith isn't even the MVP on his own offense, let alone the league.

...I don't even know why I'm bothering with this, actually.

I would think Brady would get serious consideration. Could you imagine that cast without him? They would probably be winless.

I don't know about MVP, but his detractors need to seriously shut their mouths. Anything negative being said is nothing more than a diversion while they clean egg off their faces.
